Present Day
Ravager in his apartment.
So D! I saw your little video from the River Valley. You think you know what I'm up to? You can see past all my "lies"?
You'd think after everything I've shown you in the past few days you'd realize that you don't know s*it about me. But now you open your mouth and show your ignorance once again.
I'm not trying to be your friend. I'm not trying to get sympathy. I just want to take something away from you.
Not your title. I'll do that in the ring Monday Night.
Not your family. Despite what you may think of me, I know the value of family. If I have a problem, I'll tell you to your face.
No. I'm taking away something very near and dear to you. Something that you've had for all your title defenses.
I'm taking away your monster.
Plague. The monster former champion. He hurt you badly. He had the experience that put yours to shame. He had the wrestling skill that rivaled yours. The people badly wanted to see you conquer him. After all, fans love an underdog. And they got behind you. And you sent him packing.
Chris Casino. A different kind of monster. He hurt you with his words, then brought in all his friends to hurt you physically. He drove you away from the sport you love, sending you on a vision quest to regain your strength. And the fans loved you for it. And you regained your championship.
And that brings you to me. ....
You've called me a scorpion. A liar. Evil. You keep trying to make me into the monster the fans want you to destroy. And yet I'm not that much different from you. I value my family. I love this business. I just don't make a point of pandering to people to get them to like me. I earned respect. You put on a pair of flaming boots and walk around Whyte Avenue having drinking contests, trying desperately to be "one of the people". Though I doubt "one of the people" have rich parents who'll pay for their education if they get tired of their current job. I doubt "one of the people" drives around town in a mango PT Cruiser. And "one of the people" doesn't march around with a title belt over his shoulder. You know how people knew I was champion? I won matches.
If you want to beat me D! You'll have to get in the ring and pin me to the mat. And despite all your talk, you didn't do that this past Monday. Even with all my distractions, even after Moose gave me the roughneck on the floor, you had to settle for pinning Maniac. Which I'm sure ate you up inside. Because you needed so badly to pin me. You needed that psychological edge. And you didn't get it. So instead you have to go back to the River Valley. A place that opened up so much pain for you. Because your "pain has a point". Hey, it gave you the emotional lift you needed to beat Chris Casino. Why not do the same against me? I'm sure your friend will be honored that you're using her memory as inspiration to win title matches.
Pause.
And there you go. You get me angry. I make a horrible comment on someone's past tragedy. And you have a little more inspiration for your match. There you go. Use it wisely.
Because you're going to need every little advantage you can get Monday Night.
Ravager gets up. He puts on his jacket, and leaves his apartment.
Cut to outside D!'s apartment building. At the front entrance. Ravager tacks an envelope to the bulletin board inside the foyer. It Reads:
Maja Hernandez Foundation c/o D!
You think you know me D! You haven't even scratched the surface yet. See you Monday.
Ravager walks off.
Fade to Black.
