D! has just finished his post match rant. Ravager, sitting in the seats, finishes drinking his coffee. He goes to his car, drives off. We cut to a few hours later. Ravager is sitting on a bench in the River Valley, despite the cool temperatures.
I guess congratulations are in order D! You went out there and did everything you said you'd do. Just like I went out and did everything I promised. And now we come to the meeting everyone has been whispering about since we won our first titles. D! versus Ravager. And trust you to get the first shot in.
It's amazing how everything I do is about you. I move into an apartment to scout you. The problem with that idea: I leased that place long before I even heard of you. I was assigned to my first NAPW match long before you were even given a spot on the roster. Do you really think you're that important that I'd relocate myself and everything I own just to keep tabs on you?
You ask if I've taken notes on all you've said and done the last month? Of course. I take notes on everyone. Every wrestler in the NAPW is a potential opponent. Or has the potential to be part of a profitable alliance. Like you and I were for one match. It's called being prepared. And believe me, ever since you sang your first can can against Viking, I've been prepared for you. You've shared your pain? That's great. I'll be happy to give you a bit more.
And then you tell me to stay away from your friends. Your family. That hurts. You see D! I don't believe in metaphors. I don't like subtlety. If I have a problem with someone, I'll tell them myself, to their face. I don't trust messengers. I don't like my words being twisted. Your family can rest safe. They've done nothing to me. The only regret I have is they won't be able to celebrate your championship for long.
You are a worthy champion. But don't believe for a second that I am not a worthy challenger. I have worked since day one to get to the top of this promotion. I'm not going to waste it by playing elaborate mind games or setting up frivolous legal challenges to distract you. I have more confidence in my abilities than to stoop to something like that. You want to talk about honour? I defended the Provincial title with honour. When the NAPW was in it's first formative month, who was it who stepped up and wrestled every night? Me. Who has accepted every challenge put before him? Me. Win or lose, who has given the fans their money's worth every match he's in? Well, I think we can both make that claim. And that is why I'm proud to face you. Call me a lunatic all you want. I'm not the one who hid behind a mask so he wouldn't feel guilty about getting his hands dirty in the ring. I'm not the one who attacked his tag partner over a broken title belt. I'm the one who will give everything he has in every match, no matter the opponent. And that's what you'll get D!
You want the challenge? Here it is...
We both just came off the biggest challenges of our careers. The doctor's say my wrist is at least two weeks away from being 100%. Judging by the amount of blood you left in the ring, you're not 100% either.
Can we agree D!, that we don't want any excuses? I don't want to say that " My wrist is still sore, and that's why I lost". I don't want you to say " He hit me with his cast, it must be loaded, and that's why I lost". I want to face you. One on one. No gimmicks. No interference. No mind games. D! - the two time NAPW Champion; versus Ravager - two time Provincial Champion, and the #1 Contender. I believe you said it would be a match for the ages? I couldn't agree more. But a match like this shouldn't be rushed if it's going to be done right. The fans deserve to see a title match free of weapons, cheating, and spite. The fans want to see the two men who stood atop the NAPW finally find out who is better. And you know what, I want to see it too. And I know that you do too. So what do you say? Do we do it soon, or do we do it right? It's in your hands champ.
Ravager gets up to leave.
Try not to party too late champ. You got a whole new world of challenges to face tomorrow morning.
Ravager walks off. Fade to black.
