(The scene: surprise, surprise, it's a gym. Shot in black and white. Our hero and savior, Static, is working out his luxuriously muscled midsection with crunches, clad merely in gym shorts and his mask. Bill Fleming is nowhere to be seen.)
"You sound scared."
(He does a few more to let us digest that statement, presumably made towards Ravager.)
"Yep. Scared. All the hours of preparation, coming to Action! on Thursday, interfering in my match... all, acts of a scared, desperate man. Especially interacting with Lobo. That's a fate almost worse than death."
"Fleming knows. He alerted me to this phenomenon in the first place. The Mayor says to me after Action!, he has some valuable information for me available at a reasonable price. That price, of course, is a certain amount of protection. The valuable information, is knowledge of the Fear. Fearful men attack interviewers, he says. Finally realizing that, I knew that this match was going to be much easier to prepare for than expected."
"Why? Confidence. I know that you love my moves, my athleticism, my history... that's great. Knowing that, chances are, you're afraid of them? Majestic. George Herbert once said, 'Skill and confidence are an unconquered army.' With the Mayor, Bill Fleming, by my side... cakewalk."
"I remember telling Fleming earlier in the day, about how he had a lot to learn about the methods to my madness for preparing for a match. Yeah, there's a certain amount of working out and studying to be done, that's what's happening now. Overdo it... well, you're not looking too confident in yourself there. G'luck, Ravager, you'll need it."
(Fade.)
