[fade up]
Bio, Pain, and Kar continue to circle a pivotting Predator. D! struggles frantically to remove the tightly wound chain from his leg. The camera slowly moves horizontally along the three intruders.
Pain is crossed first, and up comes a clip of The Predator double-handed chokebombing Pain on the concrete floor.
The camera passes Bio, and up comes a clip of The Predator Dominating Bio on top of Pain.
Finally, the camera passes the enraged Kar, up comes a clip of The Predator delivering a torture rack to Kar just after kicking Mirage in the face. All of these clips very brief, as though they were flashbacks.
D! - Things have . . . uhh . . . changed? How, exactly?
The Predator refuses to answer, due to his complete concentration being directed exactly to Pain who lunges with a double-headed sword. Pain leaps rather high, and The Predator follows. Their blades meet in mid-air, and they fall opposite eachother. Bio aims an arrow at The Predator, who notices that D! is being slowly approached.
D! - Uhh . . . Predator? A little, uhh . . . help?
The Predator whips his head around to see Pain lifting his sword, and Bio releases his arrow. In one swift motion, Predator catches the arrow with his blade, and redirects it to Pain's leg. D! lets out a deep sigh in relief as The Predator leaps over to D!. He crouches.
PREDATOR - Do you trust me?
A confused expression overtakes D!'s face. Surprisingly, The Predator's words are heard over the harrowing cries of Pain.
D! - What do y-- what?!
Predator swipes his blade and D!'s leg is miraculously released.
PREDATOR - Do you trust me?
It takes a moment, but D! considers it.
D! - Ok, yes.
And in a single swift motion, D! is lifted from the ground, and thrown over to Kar and Bio.
PREDATOR - Cuerda para tender la ropa doble!
And D!, understanding these words, double clotheslines Bio and Kar on his way through. Kar ducks out of the way just in time, and Bio is thrown to the side where he nearly falls off the roof.
D! - (to Predator) Gracias.
The Predator has no time to reply, he aims his gauntlet at Bio and fires a wire which wraps around his mid-section, and Predator yanks Bio back into the middle of the roof.
D! - Hey! What are you doing?
Predator whips his head around to meet D!'s confused/angry expression.
PREDATOR - Some people do not deserve to die.
D!'s expression remains.
D! - Why?
Predator shakes his head.
PREDATOR - Because some things never change.
Suddenly, another dark figure leaps onto the roof. His rather large silouette creates a familiar image.
PREDATOR - (to D!, but looking at the figure) And some things do.
Kar, Bio, and Pain run behind the dark figure, and they too have became spooky silouettes. Predator helps D! to his feet.
D! - Who's he?
Predator does not appear to have heard him.
D! - Come on, who is it?
Predator looks at D!.
PREDATOR - Can you think of no one?
D! thinks for a moment.
D! - No . . . It can't be . . .
Predator turns his head to the newcomer.
DARK FIGURE - Well, well, well, if it isn't The Predator, himself. Long time, no see?
Predator crouches, his bladed fore-arm outstretched.
PREDATOR - Not long enough, it was. Master.
The figure laughs spitefully, Bio draws another arrow, Kar drops his chain and draws a sword, and Pain lifts his own sword.
DARK FIGURE - For too long I have waited for today. For too long I have searched for your sorry ass, knowing that I could not approach you while you were in the ring, so I had to try to find you outside the arena, and in the real world.
He begins to very slowly approach a crouched Predator and a confused D!.
DARK FIGURE - By the way, D!, I have to thank you for helping me find our little prey. God knows where we would have looked, weren't it for you.
D! scratches the back of his head, in embarrassment. The Predator doesn't seem to care about D!'s mistake, nor does he take his eyes off of the dark figure. Bio aims his bow at Predator.
DARK FIGURE - No! Kill the spare.
Bio then re-directs his aim at D!. The Predator swings his leg and trips D! who falls on his back just as Bio's arrow passes.
D! - (wincing) Yea, thanks.
The figure enters the light and his black leather mask is revealed. The camera cuts to behind the three 'hunters', and we see the tattoo of death on his back. The Predator does not remove his gaze from the man we now know as Mirage.
MIRAGE - Hmm. Impressive. Funny, I didn't teach you that.
The Predator snickers silently.
PREDATOR - I can't remember you ever teaching me anything.
A cold wind adds into the cold January air. The Predator's dreaded black hair remains still, as Mirage's long wiry hair flows in the wind. D! begins to stand as Bio draws another arrow.
The Predator reaches to Bio with his gauntlet and the wire shoots out, yet again, this time wrapping around Bio's throat. The Predator yanks on the wire and Bio falls to the floor choking. Mirage leans down and cuts the wire with a small knife, and Bio bursts for air.
MIRAGE - Kill the SPARE!
D! looks at Mirage with a look of disgust. Then he looks at Bio.
D! - Why do you let him treat you that way?
Bio stands.
BIO - The Mentor teaches us discipline.
D! - The Mentor teaches you nothing but discipline!
