Fade in. SB has searched the whole house for Brian Bruno, but to no avail. Wherever he’s gone, SB will have to wait to find him. He needs to tell Emily what’s happened. He lifts the cell phone to his ear and dials the number.
SB: Em?...yeah, he came to the house. Once I realized someone went through the house and didn’t take anything, I knew that it was him. The envelope was gone, and he did find out where you’d gone to. I’m sorry this all happened…no, I didn’t catch him. I should have called the police, but they would have just arrested him. I was trying to help him, you know?
Cut to Emily in an unknown location.
Emily: It’s ok Andrew. I know you were doing what you thought was right, but I think now it’s time to give up on helping him, as hard as that is to say. We’ve lost him, Andrew. He isn’t the man I married anymore. He’s a monster. All he wants to do is hurt us, and anyone who might get in the way of him doing that. The most important thing we can do now is notify the police…
Cut back to SB.
SB: We can’t give up on him that easy, Em. Yeah, it looks bad now. But he can be saved. I think if I can just challenge him to a match, and beat him…maybe I can beat some sense into him. Maybe it could snap him out of this, you know? And then finally we could turn him over to the authorities, and get him the help he needs. Get him back to his family, you know…
Emily: That’s not an option anymore. I…couldn’t ever love him again.
SB waits a while before he speaks, not sure what to make of what he’s just heard. He shakes his head, realizing it isn’t his place to tell her what to do.
SB: Right…you’re right. But you still agree he needs help, right? And that we should be the ones to get him that help? I think we owe it to him, Emily.
Cut back to Emily.
Emily: Yes, I do too. But once that’s over and done with…I don’t want to see him again. I need to go now, though. We’ll talk more about this later. Goodbye. (hangs up)
The camera pulls back. Sitting beside Emily is Suzanna. She’s sipping on a coffee.
Suzanna: Is he safe?
Emily: Yes, but Brian’s still on the loose. What are we going to do, run forever?
Suzanna: He’d kill us if he ever found us, Em. We’re doing the only thing we can to stay safe.
Emily: I understand that, but when my children look at me like I’m some kind of a fugitive it gets hard. And what’s the end result going to be? Their father either goes to prison or winds up dead? Everything Brian ever tried not to become, he has become.
Suzanna: What do you mean?
Emily: Don’t you see? Brian’s become just like his father before him. No matter how hard he tried, for all the good he’s done…he is everything he once hated.

Brian Bruno sits in an alley, furious with himself. He was given an early chance at redemption, and let it slide through his fingers. Never again, he’s vowed to himself. He won’t toy around next time. He’s finish the job once and for all. An empty syringe lies before him…he’s decided to keep the beast at bay for a while, so he can think.
Bruno: (chuckles to himself) Looks like things just got a bit worse for my “opponents” Tuesday. Unlucky souls…no problem of mine, though. No such thing as an innocent bystander.
It seems my plan didn’t work out the way I designed. Something must have tipped off SB. No doubt, he realized it was I who broke into his house. Once he realized the envelope was missing he rushed here and sent my family somewhere else. Foolish coward; prolonging the inevitable is always the last act of a desperate man. And he just insists on “not being my enemy.” Wanting to save my from myself? Ha! What a self-righteous moron. Little does he know that I’ve already been saved from myself – but it was my OWN doing. But I can’t stay fixated on my war with him, for I do need money to fuel my passions, and winning matches doesn’t hurt. I had the REBEL title won, but I let that bastard Caliber cheat to win and steal it from me. Not this time. I will not be embarrassed by these lesser souls. I won’t have them mock me while I hunt my prey, and then sneak up on me with my pride at stake and have them take it from me.
You five may have convinced yourself that I’m too caught up in this cat and mouse game to be a factor in this match – have you seen the hell I am capable of brining to your doorstep? No fear of Bruno? Surely, you understand that could cost you your lives, gentlemen. I’d snap the necks of my children if they were here right now – what do you think I might do to you, I wonder? I’ll leave you with this. When the smoke clears, and the bodies litter the ring like so much garbage, I will stand tall. I will hold up the Carolinas Championship, and I will keep it as a cheerful remembrance of the five damned souls I was called to harvest on May the first, two thousand and seven.
