(Lights come up on Josh Reynolds with a microphone. With him are the New and Improved D-X, Stylin' Kyle Roberts and Bruce "The Beast" Richards, standing backstage at Monday Night Fights.)
JOSH REYNOLDS: I'm here with current tag team champions The New and Improved D-X. Gentlemen, tonight you have the unenviable position of being in the ring with Rex Caliber and Static, the tag team known as The Crimes. Any comments to your opponents?
BRUCE RICHARDS: Josh, why are you even here? We're able to call out our opponents by ourselves, thanks.
JOSH REYNOLDS: But this is my job!
BRUCE RICHARDS: If you're fine with being a glorified microphone stand, then I can handle it. (turns to the camera) Rex! Static! Here we are, on Alberta's favourite wrestling program, Monday Night Fights! In a mere hour and a half, you will be facing off against us, NAPW's tag team champions. Good luck! It's taken a ton of skill and good wrestling to get you to this point, but now you face us.
KYLE ROBERTS: That's right. Daddy's here to pick up the pieces! You see these belts on our shoulders? NAPW champs! Gastown title holders! We're going to need a third member in D-X just to help us carry all this gold!
BRUCE RICHARDS: Now, I'll give it to The Crimes. They beat us, not exactly fair and square, but in a way that we couldn't ignore. Braining Kyle with a steel chair was sure gutsy, Static. It got you into the position of being the number one contenders to these NAPW belts. But tonight, you want to fight for these belts? Kyle and I won't be pulling any punches.
KYLE ROBERTS: Static! Are you really wanting to be pinned by yours truly once again? Because I've got an Emerald Fusion here with your name on it! Rex, nothing personal, but when it comes to these belts, Bruce and I just want it more.
BRUCE RICHARDS: You ready, Kyle?
KYLE ROBERTS: As I'll ever be. Let's warm up. Coach Jago's waiting for us. (D-X leaves, leaving Josh Reynolds alone in the camera frame.)
JOSH REYNOLDS: Strong words from the champions. Now who's ready to see some pure wrestling tonight?
(Fade out.)
