Fade in. An NAPW banner. Santiago stands in front, in full ring attire. His mask is red and white, and his chest is bare revealing his tattoos. Rob Martinez is there with him, ready to ask all the burning questions.
RM: Hello, ladies and gentlemen, I’m here right now with one half of REBEL’s international Dream Team the Next Generation…Santiago!
Santiago: Hello, it’s good to be here in North Carolina.
RM: Now Santiago, there have been rumors of a NextGen break-up. Are they just that, rumors, or is there some truth to it?
Santiago: They’re all lies. Sakai and I are brothers, and that’s that. We may fight or disagree at times, but we’re a team and real teams stick together. For that express reason, Next Generation has come to REBEL Pro wrestling.
RM: OK, changing subjects now. You’re opponents Tuesday night in the Battle Royale – have a feeling that maybe that animosity might lead to you and Sakai, well, having at it?
Santiago: Well, in the spirit of competition, much like at NAPW’s Sole Survivor, if it comes down to Sakai and I at the end, we’ll fight for the honor of being victorious. I wouldn’t call myself a wrestler if I wasn’t willing to compete against everyone.
RM: Fair enough. Some have said that you will be the next team in line to be granted a tag team title shot after Tuesday’s inaugural championship match between the Celtic Assassins and the Foundation. Where do you think Next Generation stands right now in the ranks?
Santiago: It is very possible we may have a title shot, but with both DOOMriders in REBEL, as well as the Bluegrass Mafia, if we aren’t number one contender’s I would not be surprised. REBEL has sensational Tag Team talent, and I’m just glad I can be a part of it along with Sakai.
RM: Indeed. Now, there have been some rumors of a “Eurasian” tour for Next Gen that would keep them out of both Canada and the States until about mid-July. Is Sakai returning to his homeland, along with you and Leo Mack?
Santiago: Well, I suppose news travels fast. Yes, I have officially let it be known to both Rex Caliber and Rick Garret that Next Generation will fulfill it’s bookings through the next set of NAPW shows before commencing on a three month tour that will see us compete in Japan, Thailand, England, Germany, Italy, and Romania. It isn’t “goodbye” – our North American fans don’t need to worry. Come the end of the tour, we’ll return for our shots at REBEL and NAPW Tag Team Gold!
JR: Well you heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen, breaking news – Next Gen on a three month hiatus from North American wrestling!
Fade out.
Note: Santiago is speaking Spanish, I just wrote him in English so that everyone will know what he's saying.
