Promo begins as "The Show" Chad Kurtis has just finished a 1 mile steeplechase at Wade stadium, the home of the 1990 and 2000 NCAA outdoor track and field championships, located on the Duke University Campus.
Show: I know everyone is wondering why I am changing my training routine. Truth is I ain't really changing it, I am up grading it. I just replace my usual 2 mile run with a 1 mile steeplechase. It is suppose to be the ultimate test of speed and endurance, and I believe it.
"The Show" is joined by his personal trainer, Axl, as they head over to the Von Football Center weight room for strength and conditioning training.
Axl: Tell me, Chad, did that steeplechase thing push your endurance limits like Coach Anderson and everyone said it would or is it just another fad thing?
Show: No, you can really feel the burn. It ain't no fad thing. This ain't for the weak. I guarantee that. But, it's all worth it. I mean I strive to continue to get better and this is just another step in that direction.
Axl and "The Show" are interrupted by Chad's college sweetheart who is now a swimming coach at the university.
Stephanie: Chad...Chad Kurtis, how have you ? I heard you were back on campus. I tried to keep up with your career, but once the whole steroid thing in FCW I lost track.
"The Show" gives Stephanie a hug and introduced Axl before continuing with the conversation.
Show: I been good. Been up in Canada wrestling for the NAPW. Now I also wrestle here in NC for Rebel Pro. Also they have signed me on here at the school to help with the strength and conditioning program and I help run a new wrestling school.
Stephanie: (flirty) Busy, busy aren't you. I knew you was wrestling for Rebel Pro. Remember my brother is a big wrestling fan and he caught the first show and said you was on the roster.
Show: Yeah me and my brother were involved in a tag match, but we fell a little short of the win, but now I am focused on this battle royale I am in this week against Modo Whoa, Assman, Clint Stone, Santiago, and Sakai. You should come and check it out.
Stephanie: I think I may just have to check it out, and maybe after wards we can hook up for dinner or something?
Show: We may just have to do that, but not that I want to rush away but I got to get on with my training.
"The Show" and Axl leave Stephanie at the track as their continue to head toward the weight as they are once again interrupted.
Student/reporter: Excuse me, Chad Kurtis, my name is Keith Anders and I ran ncwrestlingfans.com and was wondering if you could take time to answer a few questions?
Show: ncwrestlingfans.com, I will have to check that one out. Maybe if sign up for the pro board, but to answer you question yes I always have time for the fans.
Anders: The fans were wondering what you thought your chances of winning the big battle royale are?
Show: I really like my chances in this match-up. I mean don't get me wrong I know all this wrestlers are capable of winning from Assman to Santiago, but "The Show" just has this feeling that he is going to walk away with the victory in this one!
Anders: In your own words you said that you don't know much about Assman and Modo Whoa, how are you going to prepare for them in this match-up?
Show: I have done my homework and watch film and scout this men, but to tell you the truth I believe that the best defense is a great offense, and that is exactly how I am going into this match. I mean the question your should be asking is how do my opponents prepare for the last 'Action!'hero, the innovator of offense, the true PTPer, "The Show" Chad Kurtis!
Promo and interviews ends as "The Show" arrives at the weight room to begin his strength and conditioning training.
