Promo begins as "The Bluegrass Mafia" arrives in Raleigh NC. They are greeted by a mob of fans many sporting the new "Bluegrass Mafia" t-shirts as they make their way to the venue where they plan on making Rebel history they are stop by Buck Williams, who covers indy promotions for PWI.
Buck: Excuse me, Matt and Chad you guys have a minute? I mean it's been a long time since either one of you have had a lead story in PWI.
Matt: (with sarcasm) PWI?
Chad: (with sarcasm) Yeah, it stands for pro wrestling illustrated. Remember it's that magazine that use to kiss our asses all the time make when we ruled FCW.
Matt: (with sarcasm) Oh yeah, you were even ranked as the top wrestler back in 2003 and I believe I was in the top five.
Lyndsey: That's right I remember that magazine. I was ranked in the top 50, and that's an accomplishment for a female wrestler. I thought maybe PWI just went out of business or something.
Chad:(with sarcasm) Hold on a minute, I mean I think we need to take this all in. The great PWI wants to do an article on an indy wrestler instead of just listing us in the fine print.
Buck: Okay, guys enough with the sarcasm. There is so many angles to this story; from Duke wrestling star returns to NC to simply this being the first show for Rebel, so are you guys up for an interview or not?
Show: We are up for the interview, but we had to have some fun first. You should have known that or has it really been that long since your talked to the Kurtis brothers?
Buck: Let's get started then. What brought you guys to NAPW and Rebel? I mean what was the appeal? I mean Canada and North Carolina is a long way from the bright lights of FCW.
Matt: For me it was about finding a fed to call home again. I mean after the big steroid controversy that eventually caused FCW to shut down. I did the indy thing and the Japan thing, but nothing really felt like it was were I belonged.
Show: Matt pretty much summed it up for me, too. I mean I even did some time in Mexico as well as like Matt some Japan time plus a even did a few movies, but I missed having a place where the fans appreciated what I gave day in and day out!
Buck: Matt, you brought up an interesting point about the steroid controversy in FCW. I mean Chad and you were the faces of FCW. Exactly how did you two escape with your reputation in tack?
Matt: That a simple question to answer, I never used steroid. I mean I guess some people may look at my massive size and think I must be using, but truth is I never used and never will!
Chad: Like my brother said when it comes to steroids or any other drug we just say no. I mean truth is FCW did perform "random drug test", but they weren't really random I mean look at how many times me and Matt got tested. They said it was because we were champions, but truth is it was because they knew we were clean!
Matt: But , you did underestimated the effect the controversy had on our careers. I mean we were blacklisted by the big feds sentenced to a life of indies, Mexico, or overseas.
Buck: That must of been hard to go from the big time and the big money to working for a $100 a show sometimes less?
Show: I ain't going to lie, it was one of the hardest time in my life. I mean I was out there doing the same daredevil moves I always do, putting my body on the line and I didn't really know why except I love this sport!
Lyndsey: It was a hard time for all of us. I mean for most of the two years between FCW and NAPW us and Chad weren't even doing the same feds. I know there had to be time when we all thought about doing something else.
Matt: I thought about doing something else I even talked to a few people about opening up a basketball camp. Me and Chad even talked about opening a training facility, but I believe our love for the sport is what kept us all in the game.
Buck: Let's move on and talk about your upcoming match against "The Foundation". On paper this should be a good match-up, but you guys seems to hold the upper hand on the team of Darko and Young. So, what's your thoughts on this match?
Show: I really don't know what to think about "The Foundation" anymore. I mean we beat them black and blue and they come back. What do they have some kind of death wish?
Matt: Apparently they do, but this time I ain't going to be so nice to them. The first few times were just a warning, just a taste of what the big blue ass-kicker is capable of doing. This time I am going to unleash the beast!
Lyndsey: (with sarcasm) C'mon Matt and Chad, we are suppose to be scared of them. I mean they are suppose to be crazy or something. I think they may just be on drugs. I dunno.
Show: (with cockiness) Scared of "The Foundation" that's kind of funny! I mean don't get me wrong I know they are a good team and against anyone else they may be the favorite, but against "The Bluegrass Mafia" they are second best! Now if you don't mind I got a little jiggle dedicated to "The Foundation".
Matt: Oh no, I thought we were actually going to make it through an interview/segment without some of your nonsense.
Lyndsey: C'mon now Matt, let "The Show" be "The Show". The fans love it when he goes on his little rants even if sometimes they don't make no sense.
Show: Thank you, Lyndsey I think. Well here we go: one/two...the mafia gunning for you, three/four... better lock your doors, five/six...get your crucifix, seven/eight...better stay up late, nine/ten...you going to get your ass beat again!
Matt: I think what my brother is trying to say with a little spin is simply that when we climb in the ring against Darko and Young it's going to be judgment day, and the bad news for them is "The Bluegrass Mafia" is going to be the judge, jury, and executioner!
Scene fades as Buck Williams continues to interview "The Bluegrass Mafia" as they prepare for their Rebel debut.
Matthew Kurtis and Lyndsey Valentine were used with permission.
