Yeah I am indeed this bored......... Let's take a quick peek at the WWE Titles and see what each has to offer, if anything. Mind you this is simply my opinion and if you don't like it, hate it for ya baby! WWE Title - In my head the most important title in WWE. This is the same strap that people like Hogan, Flair, Angle, Guerrero, Hart. Austin, Michaels, HHH and a host of others have held. How can you argue against a pedigree like that? I loved the war with Edge & Cena over the title and as much as I hate to admit it...I'm warming up to Cena. WWE Word Heavyweight Title - Okay let's recap, this title has basically handed to Triple H back in 2002 or so. He didn't beat anyone, he was just awarded the belt. This version of the World Title also has a weird history to it. Okay let's take this slow.... First, the Intercontinental title and the WCW US title were unified. Then Rob Van Dam was the IC Champ when he unified both the European and Hardcore titles. Finally Kane won the IC title only to "unify" it with the World Title. I know I'm going off on a tangent, my bad. Anyway I see the World Title as the weak sister title to the WWE title. Sure it's important...But only when the "right" someone is holding it. Chris Benoit as World Champ? Golden. Mysterio or Booker T? Horrid. Don't even get me started on Batista. WWE World & WWE Tag Team Titles - While the World Tag Titles have had an illustrious past they've fallen on hard times lately. Recently we've seen Flair & Piper / Rated RKO / Cena & Michaels hold the straps. Basically, the title has become a prop. Shame on you WWE. Over on Smackdown the WWE Tag Titles have been defended in some great matches and Kendricks and London are a great team. I gotta give the edge to Smackdown on this one. WWE Intercontinental Title - At the start of the year this belt was hot baby! The matches with Carlito / Nitro / Jeff Hardy / Shelton Benjamin had me glued to the TV set everytime that title was defended. Then a weird thing happened. At the end of the year the title was almost ignored. They used Hardy in tag teams with his brother and the belt just kinda sat there. Now Umaga of all people has the belt. I think I speak for everyone when I say...WTF!? WWE United States Title - Another belt that's become a prop. I love Benoit but he's above the US Title. Give it to Kennedy or even MVP. Basically I think the title lost a lot of credibility when they vacated it and did that best of seven match series with Booker (Orton) vs Benoit. Will we see the US title defended at WM? Nope. But at least the US Title is more important than the.... WWE Crusierweight Title - 95% of the WWE fans don't give a shit about this title. Why should they? It's a jobber belt if I ever saw one. For those of you who remembered the great days of when WCW Nitro stared every show with an incredible Cruiserweight Title match knows what I'm talking about. With all the talent they have on the roster they've misused this belt so horribly that it means as much as my local indie feds top title...Which isn't much. WWE Womans Title - Since the departure of Trish and Lita, along with the non push of Victoria this belt sucks. Melina and Mickie James are feuding over the title now and I belive I speak for all when I say...Yawn. ECW World Title - Ever since the first show....I've thought that they should rename this title the "Velocity" or "Heat" world title. Bobby Lashley (who can't talk) is the current champion and is fighting off "top" guys like Hardcore Holly and Test. Impressive. (insert sarcasm here) Anyway That's it boys and girls....maybe if I get bored I'll look at the belts of the Indies.

I really dug Mickie James when she was Alexis Laree. She was an outstanding indy wrestler. I still think she has some talent, but it took WWE way to long to sign her. My favourite title of all time is the Intercontinental title. Guys like Texas Tornado, Mr. Perfect, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Tito Santana, British Bulldog and on and on made this title my favourite growing up. I was never a big fan of the heavyweight strap. Maybe it was the look, maybe it was the fact that guys like Sid Vicious held it... I dunno. I just found the IC division more competitive and to be better wrestling. Later in the 90's i wasnt too impressed with it. www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/titles/wwe/intercontinental.html

Brion, you have no idea how glad I am you mead this thread. I always thought about if I was a booker for a promotion how I would use the titles. Right now, I think the WWE is doing an all around bad job with their titles, absolutely horrid. Now-a-days it's becoming more and more of a show, and less about wrestling, therefore they hand the titles to anyone and everyone. If they wanted better ratings, I suggest they boost the importance of Championships, because as much as everyone knows it's scripted, people want to believe that there is something more on the line than just pride. So, here's my spin on things;
WWE Title Hands down, the most important title in the WWE right now. Is that a bad thing? No. What is a bad thing, is how they turned it into a prop spinner belt. The thing is ugly, and an embarassment. Competition wise, RAW is the best brand to provide able contenders for the belt. The year-long John Cena/Edge feud was fantastic in my eyes. If they did do any title right, it was this one. I may be biased because Edge is one of my favorite wrestlers, but the two had some killer things going on. Now it's Cena/HBK... which I'm cool with. Sure HBK is over the hill, but he's still got that spark and is a huge draw. I just don't like making them tag team champions, it seems pretty corny. Otherwise, you still have Edge, Orton, HHH(eventually), Khali(he's not reaaallly a contender, but the dude is massive, the fans acknowledge that he could kill Cena), and soon I believe we could be seeing Carlito.
World Championship I hate what has become of Smackdown... I just hate it. They are overflowing with talent, and instead of taking advantage of what they have, they give guys that could really draw practically no tv time, and then produce the corniest gimmicks and angles I have ever seen. This division is weak. Terribly weak. I'm not a fan of Batista, but I am a fan of Batista VS Undertaker at Wrestlemania. For the longest time I couldn't understand why Undertaker wasn't in the division, especially now when he's in the best shape of his life. Rey Mysterio should never again be considered a threat for the title... never. Booker T... sure, I would have LOVED Booker's reign if it wasn't for that stereotypical Smackdown bullshit gimmick of "King" Booker. Then who do you have? Finlay? As much as they try to shove him down the fans throats as a title contender... it will never work. Leave him in the US division where he can do a great deal of good. Oh... then you have Benoit, the most talented guy on the (BLEEP)ing roster, but he's just the US champion... (Oh, and they have KANE! The guy who is talented BEYOND belief, and he resides in no division.)
Intercontinental Aside from the US title in the late 90's, this was my favorite championship. Razor, Mr. Perfect, Jericho, Edge, Owen... they all made this title spectacular. I saw the same promise Brion saw with the Nitro/Hardy/Benjamin/Carlito as contenders... but then they just throw it on Umaga. Why? It's not like the guy needs the momentuem of a title belt that can't even fit around his waist. They have a division there, they just can't find it right now. Honestly, it's a damn shame. Some of these midcard guys are the reason a lot of people tune in, and a title always makes the fights more interesting.
US Title Oh. My. God. Back in the days of Raven, DDP, Benoit, Booker T, Finlay, Goldberg... wow. I loved that division. I watched WCW for that division first, then the Cruiserweights, and the genius of the nWo angle. On Smackdown! of all places, this title should be the bread and butter of the midcard guys. MVP, Matt Hardy, Kennedy, Finlay, Boogey Man, Kane and several others. If they cranked up the importance factor on that title, and had those guys going up to bat for it, COUNT ME IN. If you're going to let the belt sit on the shoulder of Benoit, when he should be main eventing Wrestlemania, or at least be in the Money In the Bank match... then count me out...
ECW Title Notice I changed the position of importance of this title. Sure, ECW is a joke. I think maybe, with time, they can turn it into something watchable, but it will take time. The only reason I ranked this title this high was because so far every champion has been a believable champ. RVD, Big Show, Bobby Lashley. Get some more contenders, build up your boys some more, and give me a call when you're ready.
WWE and World Tag Team Titles The only reason I even watch TNA anymore is because I'm a tremendous fan of tag team wrestling. The WWE has defiled and destroyed tag team wrestling. It's honestly disgusting. Did they get rid of it because they don't believe it can pull ratings? Go back to when you had the Dudley's/Hardyz/E&C around you freaking retards. Sure, they were incredibly popular teams, but not when they first came on the scene. They were built up into high profile superstars, and that's what the WWE can't seem to do anymore. Instead of sticking out a good idea than can become better over time, they just can it before it even gets a chance. Tag team wrestling will always be the shit, and you can't take it away from me you WWE buerocratic bastards!
Women's Cruiserweight Title Might as well be the same thing. I've heard rumors that they are going to try and revamp the Cruiser division, but I won't believe it until it happens. The Women's division is junk, even though Mickie and Victoria can put on some killer matches. Find us another Trish, please.
That's all for my rant. As you can tell, I think about this a lot.

My Two Cents The belts. I have to start off with the tag team, because I've always loved this division, and if I were to wrestle, that's where I would be. In the tag division. I say smush both the tag belts. And let both brands of tag teams wrestle on either show. Or just let the tag champs do that. So that way the tag belts will have more worth and more competition. And the little kids that WWE seems to be aiming at will reply "WOW!" "AWESOME" "FULL ON KILLER" or something like that. And crush this whole idea with Cena and Shawn being tag champs. It's damn whack. IC and US. Smush those too. And take the same action as the Tag titles. Umanga, drop the IC. Get into a feud with Kahli instead. Call it the "The Biggest Beef" or something. Like everyone else has been saying which I agree with. Benoit needs to drop it and advance to bigger and better things. Personally, I wouldn't had mind Chavo with the US belt. World Title and World Heavy Weight. Do the same actions. By taking these actions. A champion won't look like a champion, he'll look like a great champion. And if they want to give Rey another title reign, don't play it off Eddie's death. That was the only problem I had with him as champ, but other than that I truly believed he deserved the title. I've noticed talk about Booker T. I say he deserved it, then again, it's because he's one of my favorite wrestlers. If he can't get another title reign. Let the man commentate. You have to admit, he is funny. Now we'll have three belts. With two times the competition. As for the Exclusive titles, the crusierweight. I honestly believe Chavo can offer something, and put Rey in their, he'll be able to boost it up. Seriously, that match with him and Matt after wrestlemaina. -I'm not sure on the number but, I remember he had face Matt for the title lost. And Booker had faced HHH for the title and lost.- That match after wrestlemaina was beautiful. It had damn good drama, I think I was about to cry. The womens title. It's a mans world, but it's nothing without a woman. I got nothing else to say. This WWECW I can't really speak about it, I barely watch it. But from what I've seen its a development, and Batman's on.

I've said this before and I will maintain it. When the brand split first began and the Unified WWE champion travelled between both shows, it was creative and unique. The Women's champion also did that. You had some strange bits as well with the IC Champion jumping to SD, thereby taking the belt with him.
Lately the brand split is nearly meaningless with guys from all the shows on every show and PPV without any reason. According to "reports" this is going to be the norm now to boost the star power in each show. Really at this point they might as well go back into one brand, they're not even maintaining a pretense of being different companies. There aren't even trades, guys just wrestle wherever.
I like the idea of the top champion travelling. I would definitely merge the tag titles; there are nowhere near enough teams in the fed to have two. Plus it devalues them both.
The IC and US titles both have long histories, they can be exclusive to each show to give both RAW and SD a top singles title with no limits to wrestle for. Have the CW champion on SD still and the Women's champion on RAW.
Obviously I agree that WWE has given all the belts except the WWE Championship such short shrift they mean little. Sure we can all understand that the belts ARE props, they're not "real" championships, they're storyline devices. But it is a tried and true and great storyline for wrestlers to go after championships, with a champion defending. Honky Tonk Man drew tremendous crowds everywhere he went just because people wanted to see him lose the IC belt. It wasn't just about seeing him beaten, it was about seeing him lose the damn belt already.
Anyways. Let's face it, WWE is as WWE does. Ring Of Honor, now, they value their titles hugely.

i agree that the brands need to be put together
however i'd leave ECW out of it.
My idea for ECW when i first heard it, was to have it like they have OVW or DSW. Keep it independent. Like it's supposed to be.
It doesn't need to be nationally televised. It did just fine being syndicated by local tv companies. I mean honestly, what made ECW so great was the fact that it was cut throat, no bullshit wrestling. They didnt have the fancy pyro, they didn't have the lighting and that added to the atmosphere.
WSX is more ECW then anything else out there... sides maybe CZW. But CZW is in a different league, in my mind. They are ECW on steroids.
Melt the belts together, make ECW more independent and then see how that goes.
blam.
