I ran across this video on Youtube. I noticed there are a few UK guys here and thought that if you were into Indy wrestling you might recognize this wrestler named CJ Hunter. CJ Hunter Highlight Video... Click itAnyways the reason I bring it up, is because Craig/CJ Hunter broke into the Biz... originally as an Efedder. He cut great promos, reminds me a lot of Jay O'Brien. Anyways he was one of the few guys I ever met in this crazy game that actually created his character in an efed, and then lived it out in the ring. Also the Fallaway Slam counter / Table top suplex in this vid is the move idea that I was going for as one of my Trademark moves. I just wasn't sure what to call it. Dang I keep adding to this... Eric "The Fist" Canyon (A bit of a bigger name in the indy circuit in the UK) also was an efedder where I first started out. I'm sure there are youtube vids of him too.

...Kay, here I go adding to this again. The title around Hunter's waist is the Young Lion's Title. This was an idea Craig had a few years ago. He told me about it, and I pitched to Ross Hart and also on the Stampede Wrestling boards. I heard the idea was run with only they used a trophy or a cup, (Same name) and it worked out really well.

Nice, man, I've never actually heard of him, even as an EWR-head, but he looks pretty good on that video. Some nice moves, pretty smooth. Funnily enough I did train for about 9 months, before I went off to uni. You never know, I may go back - I did enjoy it, trained in Sheffield under Alan Johnson. I think he's got a promotion or something going there, a small one obviously, but last I looked it was there, which is half the battle I'm not really that well informed about the British wrestling scene, I've got to be honest, although - Ryan will like this - I'm off to the ROH show at the Liverpool Olympia on Saturday 3rd March. Yep!

Is that Joe's final ROH show? Yessir! Although there's a Sunday show as well, so I'll only see his SECOND to last match I guess it's still pretty historic though. It should be awesome. Nice to see that ROH are prepared to offer British fans a piece of history, whereas WWE have offered us shitty, exclusive PPV's (which means nothing major could possibly happen) and editions of the weekly shows. Wowee. Hasn't been anything from Vinny Mac since Summerslam 1992. 15 years. Ouch. BTW, I was there, at Wembley as a wee nipper

Speaking of ROH, my friend has been shitting on all non WWE wrestling and I've been dying to get him into independent wrestling with me, like watching DVDs and going to local shows. Does ROH and JAPW list it's upcoming events with ticket info? I'm dying to see ROH.

Yeah they do, SB. I bought the tix straight from the ROH website, although it's a different link for British tickets. www.rohwrestling.com/News/default.aspx?cid=73That's the list of shows - the tickets they have available are pretty easy to find. They're on sale too. Click... TICKETS! Haha

BTW, I was there, at Wembley as a wee nipper Getting to see The Davey Boy/Bret Hart IC title match is probably one of my top 5 WWF/E matches of all time so even though its been 15 years at least you got something goos. If you beleive the stuff JR has been writing in his blog it looks like WWE has been looking to hold a PPV outside of the U.S by the end of 2008, but he hasn't said were there have been rumors of a retrn to england for a pPV, and rumorsof going a PPV in Japan.

I'd LOVE to see another major PPV. I'd pay the bucks, for sure. But then, yeah, it could easily be Japan. They're linked pretty heavily with doing something in the East, huh. Seeing Davey Boy win the IC title was AWESOME, but 15 years??? I don't know, man... On a side note - for all those that knock TNA and it's iMPACT! show, here's a good reason to doubt yourselves. nodq.com/features/172492486.shtml

That's pretty funny.
Tenay was grabbing the script lol so I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking at the monitor. Man, their announce team sucks.

Oh. My. God.
That is BRUTAL.
BRUTAL.
You could argue that they're watching their monitors but they're clearly READING. Don West is clearly gearing up to "say" his lines. They're not responding naturally at all.
Now maybe it isn't the worst thing in the world for the announcers to use scripts. All the big feds "feed" their announcers lines and give them information. But Jim Ross calls things naturally, with feeling. Obviously at times Tenay is calling things naturally, the camera is on him, he can't be seen reading from the script.
Was that actually BROADCAST on a TNA program? If so, that's just awful. It's TAPED. You edit that shit OUT.
This would explain partly why Tenay is so bad in TNA when anybody who watched WCW knows he can be a perfectly good, intelligent play by play man/analyst.
Wrestling when it is too scripted suffers. They're not good actors, people!

Hey! I saw that one! I think it was like last week, or two weeks ago.
*sigh*
Why is TNA slowly starting to suck? Or is it just me?

I've been ranting about TNA on the boards for months.
The problem with TNA is that they've never REALLY had just a year long period where everything they do is AWESOME. Well I suppose no fed is always 100% awesome, but you need a period where the good far, far outweighs the bad.
When TNA had Joe/AJ/Daniels in an amazing feud over the X Title and brought in Christian Cage... they still had Jarrett on top stinking up the joint and then they brought in Sting? And he uh, did some things? Not really a lot, but you know, he was... Sting & Christian vs Jarrett and Steiner will sell tickets!
Right NOW I would say their biggest problems are a)Vince Russo's ADD booking, b)Kurt Angle's insanity, and c)the sheer mind(BLEEP) that is an attempt to start a women's division.
You have one hour of TV time a week. YOu can barely get a quarter of your roster on the show as it is. And you're going to start a WOMEN'S DIVISION?
TNA doesn't know what they want to be. Their tag is "We Are Wrestling" but they play like WWE lite with less wrestling per hour than WWE offers. Is TNA the new WCW? WWE lite? What? WHAT ARE THEY? For a while I felt like they were something different, a new entity with a mix of some of the best guys on the indies (read: RING OF HONOR) and some veterans with name value. Now they're just...
I mean what audience is TNA working towards? Casual fans? Smart fans? Huh?
