[The scene opens in the Edmonton apartment of one, J.C. Cook. After being laid up in hospital for over five weeks, it seems that he is almost back to his normal self. His hair has it's bounce back and his side burns are looking untrimmed. At the hospital, those damn nurses wouldn't let him grow a beard for God's sake. But the apartment itself is looking quite bare. Apart from the recliner he's sitting on and the television in front of him, oh, and the purple flower shaped rug, the room is empty. As he sits there in his NAPW t-shirt and his tattered old jeans, J.C. contemplates what has happened in the past, and what will happen in the future]
J.C.:
Five long weeks. That's how long I was put on the shelf for by Misery. And as I lay in the pool of my own blood back at Black Thursday, I realised that's what I get for letting my guard down. I looked away for a moment, and it cost me! But now, it's cool. I'm over that. I look around and Misery is nowhere to be seen. I may have been injured for the past five weeks, but he couldn't cut the mustard here in NAPW.
[J.C. smiles, but holds his rib cage as he had just started laughing]
J.C.:
You see it's funny. I was laid up in that hospital bed and Ravager came to visit me. Very heartfelt, but I wasn't conscious. No, you see the funny part was when Monica came along and broke up with me, claiming she couldn't stand to see me get hurt. So I come home, and she's cleared out the freakin' apartment. Except for the chair I'm sitting on, the television that shorts the circuit every time I turn it on and the rug that she bought! But as soon as these cheques start coming back in I'll get some new stuff and I'll be a damn sight happier then I am now.
Because I'm just a few days away from my return now. My forehead has been stitched back up. My wounds have healed and my bones recovered. I'm fine now. But NAPW isn't. I'm away for five measly weeks and look what’s happened. "The Rat Pack"? Chris Casino missing my hairy something, and I hope he's talking about my face. Then we have Chris Casino holding the NAPW championship, The New & Improved D-X holding the tag titles and Minstrel holding the Provincial title. Things need to change, and they are. As soon as I return to the squared circle, things will be done my way, the Johnny C. Cook way.
[And with that the scene comes to an end with the traditional fade to black]
