Match of the year: House of Horrors - Anniversary Assault
A brutal match that advanced no less than a dozen stories.

Wrestler of the year: Patrick Bickle
Hats off the the champ. You broke the glass ceiling, and you did it with class, sir.

Face of the year: Yellow Chicken
B'gawk!

Heel of the year: Lloyd Rees
Lloyd was all over the place this year. He did alot, and we hated - LOVED - every minute of it. A special mention to Chris Casino. Christ, you come back for a month and totally remind me why I love to hate you.

Tag team of the year: The New & Improved D-X
Still dominating the tag division after a year. They set the bar, and everyone's trying to get over it.

Most improved: Nightmare
This past few shows have shown a lot of focus! Keep it up!

Best of the new (since Hostile Hangover): Kurt Castle
The Devastator came storming in with authority, and I think we've only seen the start of his impact.

Angle of the year: D! Goes Bat(BLEEP) Insane
In the words of the acclaimed sporting announceman Jack Jones Esq., "HOLY HELL!" Special mention to the Joey Malone commish story... but it's not done yet, is it.

Feud of the year: Chris Casino vs. Simply Beautiful
I can't think of a feud that really capped off the year for me any better than this one. A strange melange of both men representing both tradition and the future. Casino is part of the NAPW old guard. SB is newer stock. Casino wants to erase tradition and twist it into his own version of the future. SB wants to fight for the prestigious tradition of Pure Honour. My GOD it was epic.

Most missed (for guys we miss): The Delivery Men
Bundles of laughs from the master of comedic mayhem, Diego.

The Tommy Deathrow memorial award: Coach Jago

Match of the year: Battle Royale won by Bruce Richards
Battle Royales are tough to write effectively, but this one was written so well. I'd give the nod to House of Horrors, but that'd be for plot moreso.

A special nod to SBK vs. D-X to retain the titles after Cartwright got injured.

Wrestler of the year: Has to be D!
Never had to go up against him, but couldn't beat one week of his RPs at my best even if it happened.

Face of the year: North T. Gunderson
He's the ultimate face.

Heel of the year: Lloyd Rees
Hell yeah Lloyd Rees.

Tag team of the year: The New & Improved D-X
That just goes. I really liked that damn Ainslie/whoever she was with team, but then they jumped ship. Boo that.

Most improved: Carter Owens - Yellow Chicken

Best of the new (since Hostile Hangover): TBA

Angle of the year: The Screwdriver Screwjob
That was intense. Like...really intense.

Feud of the year: Chris Casino vs. Evan Cartwright
Because that one made sense, did it well, and still has sentiments left-over and mentioned currently.

Most missed (for guys we miss): The Delivery Men
I'm agreeing here, because I was never so dedicated to RPs that weren't in my matches than these ones. I still cry that it hasn't been finished.

The Tommy Deathrow memorial award: TV Zilla and The Bee get my nods for this category.


As for the nomination, I really appreciate it Scott. And even though I've said things like this before, I really feel other writers deserve it significantly more than me. Lost 6 of the last 9 matches Bickle has been in aswell, and there is just too much talent.

Match of the Year: Rex Caliber vs. Devastation - Last Man Standing!

Wrestler of the Year: D!... D!uh

Face of the Year: No one screams babyface quite like Yellow Chicken.

Heel of the Year: Lloyd Rees, becauase he's the type of heel I love - the tough bastard who can kick your ass cleanly. Plus, he's a horrible person, which helps lol.

Tag Team of the Year: I'm inclined to say the Bi-Polar Express, and I would have if DX didn't break their record. So, DX is my pick. I LOVE to read Kyle and Devin, and both of them are great guys.

Most Improved: Yellow Chicken, baby!

Best of the New: I must agree, Kurt Castle is quite the BAMF.

Angle of the Year: The madness that ensued after the House of Horrors. Quite insane, I must say.

Feud of the Year: Ravager vs. D! - the ongoing feud - non-feud that kept NAPW turning.

Most Missed: I laugh my ass off whenever I read Dan the Man. Bring back Team Man!

Match of the year: War Games.
I'll be perfectly honest, here: I have a hard time reading most of the NAPW matches. I get confused, and don't know what a lot of the moves are. But this match? I read every word, looked up moves I didn't know, and jumped up and down in my chair. I absolutely LOVED this match.
Honourable Mention: The Dudes vs. The New & Improved D-X vs. The Crimes Triangle Ladder Match. An massive cluster(BLEEP) of a match, and teriffically entertaining.

Wrestler of the year: D!
The NAPW was in this man's shadow for the better part of the year. Love him or hate him (I did both at different times of the year), D! was the face of this federation. I can't not give this to him.
Honourable Mention: Evan Cartwright. Seriously, the guy has held three different title belts, and is the three-time Provincial Champion. He is the most versatile wrestler in the NAPW.

Face of the year: Patrick Bickle.
Every single aspect of this character fascinates me. He's a schizophrenic, he's a daredevil, he's a submission machine, he's an obsessive. And now, he's a face. I love that.
Honourable Mention: Simply Beautiful. I liked him as a heel, but I love him as a face.

Heel of the year: Chris Casino.
The man, the myth, the legend. Came into town guns blazing and rejuvinated the NAPW. THREE TIMES. He comes and he goes, but he's always on when he's here.
Honourable Mention: "The Lemondrop Kid" Lloyd Rees. He's always bringing it hard: consistency is the man's middle name. Lloyd Consistency Rees.

Most improved: The Yellow Chicken
When The Yellow Chicken popped up, I was ready to write him off, but he proved me wrong: I made a complete 180 and fell in love. Writing a Yellow Chicken match was like a beautiful Dream Come True.
Honourable Mention: North T. Gunderson. The man is THIS CLOSE to breaking through.

Best of the new (since Hostile Hangover): The Midnight Cowboys
Undefeated until recently, this team brings enthusiasm and fresh blood to the Tag Team division.
Honourable Mention: "The Show" Chad Kurtis. I'm keeping my eye on this guy...

Angle of the year: Joey Malone is Commissioner R. Joseph Winchell III
Out of nowhere, "The Bad Boy" takes control of the NAPW, and nobody's safe. At the time it was the biggest thing to hit the NAPW, and it dominated storylines for a good long while.
Honourable Mention: D! & The Plague destroy everyone at the end of Anniversary Assault. The only time I actually screamed while reading a card.

Feud of the year: Static vs. Rex Caliber.
For my virtual wrestling dollar, it didn't get any more epic than Crime vs. Crime.
Honourable Mention: D! vs. Ravager. The "non-feud" that would not die.

Most missed: The Delivery Men
Any time you saw a guy in the crowd with a "The Delivery Men's #1 Fan" t-shirt in the wrestling crowd, that would have been Earth-2 Devin. "The world NEEDS the Delivery Men."
Honourable Mention: J.C. Cook. I freakin' loved that guy.

The Tommy Deathrow memorial award: Coach Jago.
I hope someone, someday, thinks of a way to bring Coach Jago back to rule the NAPW with an iron fist. "Tweeeeet!"
