Addendum to the "mandatory title defense period" rule that allows us to storytell more fluidly:
#1 Contenders. The #1 Contender to a title earns the right to challenge for and schedule a title match against the champion. The champion may set the match date, so long as it takes place within the mandatory title defense period. Once a title match is scheduled, it will take place even if the #1 contender loses his ranking.
Because of the nature of feuds and storytelling, the title defense period is not a "hard and fast" rule. It isn't so much of a code as it is a "guideline," and a title may not be defended within the stated period at the discretion of the booker if the story requires a different angle. When in doubt, the mandatory title defense period will be enforced.
=====
The mandatory title defense periods have been changed. The tag title period matches the heavyweight to reflect it's status as "as important..."
Heavyweight: Defended a minimum of once / 3 weeks
Tag Team: Defended a minimum of once / 3 weeks
Provincial: Defended a minimum of once / 2 weeks
Television: Defended a minimum of once / week
Pure Honor: Defended a minimum of once / 2 weeks or 4 shows
=====
As always, rule changes in NAPW are a reflection of the ongoing evolution of the fed.

Match writers please note!
Q: What format should I write my matches in?
A: Please do not write matches in Microsoft Word. MS uses a specific character set that translates poorly into HTML. Please write matches in WordPad or NotePad (Or text on a mac) and save them as plain text. The best option for windows is a freeware program called GetDiz, which can be downloaded at www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/28411
Thank you!
