To answer the question on the fans sign..
Basically, there are two types of people in Newfoundland - people who live in the capital city (St.John's) and people who don't. The city folks are called 'townies' and the others are called 'baymen', or bayman if there's only one.
There's a town in Newfoundland called Foxtrap, where I am originally from, and the nickname given to Foxtrappers is 'Jakey' - but I have no idea why.
So there you have it.. a Jakey is a guy from Foxtrap, and a Bayman is a guy who is not from St.John's.. and for the record, yes Foxtrap is in Conception Bay.
