Hi everyone,
I noticed on my posts that I get funny looking black squares where apostrophe's should be. When I preview the message, it looks fine, but after it is posted, the roleplay has these black squares all throughout the text.. it makes for a tough read on the eyes.. especially when typing with the newfie accent. hahaha
Does anyone know how to sort this problem out?
Ciao, Rob

What program are you writing your RPs in?
When people write rps or matches for me in MS Word (possibly wordpad), Word has a unique character set where apostrophes, ellipses and quotation marks are different characters from the norm. Everytime a match is written for me in MS Word I have to go through and delete each of those marks and replace them with the ones in my editor...
it might show up something similar for you on the RP board. I get them as different quotation marks from normal.

I've pretty much learned to write everything, RPs and matches, directly onto the board. That pretty much eliminates that problem for me.

I don't know how you do that without losing an RP or a match.
I write all my stuff for the fed in notepad. plain text solves all the problems.

I've lost one match writing it on the board. That problem was solved by logging in for more time when I want to write something. But I'm with D!, I find it easier to write my match directly on the board.

Or just simply copy your RP from the board and then paste and save it to word pad or word before posting. The backup is in place so you need not worry. I too have lost RPs that way and it sucks the big one. Word!

Ciao, Rob That is weird, I would suggest proof reading in word or word pad once edited and spell checked. I’d be sure to remove any unusual characters before posting.

See, that's the problem. MS Word uses different apostrophes from other programs. It won't catch any sort of weird characters, because in MS Word...they're not weird.

I don't know how you do that without losing an RP or a match. What Diego does:1. If I know that the RP wont be finished in one setting, pretty much start it as a PM to myself. Otherwise, 2. I copy all of the text and paste it into a PM to myself. 3. Send! 4. Wen I pick it up later, I open the Pm and hit "quote". 5. Copy and paste. 6. Remove the "quote" tags. 7. Good as new! Now a great RP where D! eats soup is back on track!
