Poor Bret worked so hard to make that match work. Granted, this was the same show (King of the Ring 95) that saw the beginning of King Mabel's (Viscera) Title push, as well as the epic Sid/Tatanka vs Bam Bam Bigelow/Kevin Nash main event, so nothing was going to go right on that show.

Casino, can you remember what the other weapon was in the box match? I wish I could  I remember when TNA first got onto that Fox channel JJ had to face the 3LK in some lame match ups, something like Konan's strap match, BG's Trailer Trash match or summin... |

Texas Bull rope matches lol I like those type of four-corner matches, and I like "Indian Strap" matches, too, so I guess I can't lose with them. And honestly, minus it being the start of JBL's WWE Title reign, the Eddie Guerrero / JBL Bullrope match was all kinds of HOT, even down to the finish that had the fans screaming bloody murder. So what more could you ask for? |

The strap stipulation is fine. I'm not a fan of the "you have to touch four corners to win" thing. What? The strap brings about brutality and intensity...
The four corners thing can work, but almost every.single.match happens the same way. Heel starts touching the corners, but the face sneakily touches the corners right after them, then overcomes the heel to touch the fourth corner first. It's a silly way to win a match. About as silly as the steel cage walkoutthedoor finish.
The strap/chain itself is cool.

I loathe WWE's inability to move into the 21st century and treat their women as more then pieces of meat enough as it is. To have a match where the purpose is to strip your opponent is silly.
To have a match where the girl who wins is usually the girl the audience would RATHER see naked... who then promptly gets her clothes off despite fighting to keep them on...

It's a silly way to win a match. About as silly as the steel cage walkoutthedoor finish. Well, yes, but you should also consider they're done so infrequently that they're usually fun story matches whenever they happen. Can't say the same thing about steel cages, though. Not when there's freakin' All-Steel Cage Pay-Per-Views. |
