I'm very happy Christian won.
But after all I've seen of TNA and their booking philosophy, I give it three weeks before Jarrett gets antsy and has the title put back on him. Nothing against Christian's talent. It's just TNA can't go for long without Jarrett as champ.

Hopefully they realize that they don't NEED the belt to make Jarrett/Sting a good match. Monty/Christian, here we come!

For the record, Monty was told by Jarett that after he retained tonight, Monty was the number one contender.
Basically it WILL be Monty/Christian, Jarett set it up before he lost.

Of course they don't NEED the belt to make Jarrett/Sting a good match. But then, what Jarrett wants and what Jarrett needs are two different things.

That's why I couldn't bring myself to watch the show. I was terrified Triple J would win, and I would feel as miserable about TNA as I do about WWE.
So hopefully he finally lets the belt off of himself for a while. Christian as champion is a GOOD thing with primetime coming up.

I got it alllll on video. ;D Was a good match, though Christian blew a few spots (he must have been nervous). I knew he was going to win the belt as soon as I saw his tights. He was wearing white tights with a black "C" on the sides with fat GOLD outlines. I've noticed that, much like Randy Savage, Christian's ring attire can sometimes give away the match - ie at WrestleMania VII, Savage wore white and turned face. At WrestleMania VIII, he wore gold and won the title, etc.
Anyway, Joe vs Daniels vs Styles stole the show, as expected. It wasn't as good as their match at Unbreakable, but it was still 100x better than anything WWE could pull off these days.
Rhino is a friggin' emo kid. Always whining about his life, trying to get us to feel sorry for him. Then when he starts wrestling, he chickened out of a few spots (he was supposed to jump from the apron over the guard rail onto Abyss, but he backed out and the fans laughed at him)...then he was supposed to gore Abyss off the bleachers and through four stacked up tables. He chickened out and shoulderblocked Abyss. Abyss goes through the tables, Rhino had to climb all the way down the stairs to go and pin him. Also, his underwear was hanging out of his tights the whole match (wtf?).
Also, Earl Hebner was the ref for Christian vs Jarrett! The fans were all chanting "please retire," lol. After Christian won, the fans flooded the ring and celebrated with him, was pretty awesome.
3.5/5 for that PPV I think. With rumors of Bret Hart, Bill Goldberg, and Chris Jericho all coming to TNA (and possibly Benoit if WWE doesn't renew his contract), WWE better watch itself because TNA could kick its ass if they had the money...and they will, eventually.
