Curious. Is anybody thinking we should institute an RP limit for matches? Like say, three or four?
Thoughts?

I say three would be a good Idea, and if you are a handler who prefers multiple shorter Rp's maybe string them together in the same entry to get under three. But I don't have a problem with no limit either, because quantity never beats quality with RP's.

Oh, God. I'd die.
But I'll echo Rex' sentiments . . . I haven't seen you vote on post count (well, unless that number is zero), I've seen you vote on post quality. And new people seem to get that.

it's a pretty good idea. it'll make deciding who wins easier. three's a good number, five for supercards.

Well, the Pres and I were discussing this last night, and I can understand why he'd enforce such a thing.
Hell, all you have to do is look at how the forum has ballooned. Granted, that's also because of the influx of new talent.
So I'm not so confident on the whole limit thing, especially since it gives Bruce and I a combined total of that limit. So put my vote towards the no limit, since I'm also of the opinion tht people here get that quality beats the sheer amount of posts.

I think the biggest reason I would consider an RP limit is this:
Two guys wrestle. Quality met quality with each RP. But guy one does more. It's not quantity over quality, but it is like...damn. It's really hard to judge. Having a limit would ensure that at most, I'd judge the same number of RPs for a big match.
I mean I strive for quality over quantity, but sometimes when the numbers are skewed like 6-3 or 5-3, it can be tough to look at it and say "well, the guy who did three had that one RP that beat anything the other guy did. But the other guy had really consistent quality over all of his."
It's not hugely important. I want to find out what you all think, since you're the ones affected by the match results. It's not like match judging is an exact science, but I try really hard to be fair and consider effort, quality, momentum, etc.

I see both sides, but I'm more of the school of thought for a 4 limit for regular show and 6 for supercards.
I think the limit help create more quality posts because you won't just throw up anything, just to throw it up there.

Personally, I'm for an RP limit of five for regular matches (you really don't need more than 5 rps to get your point across, especially if they're only five lines each), with a possible exception for cross-promotional posts (i.e. D!'s Friday Night Whyte shouldn't count as one of his if he's promoting someone else). As for supercards, I say no limits. Sometimes people need 6 or 7 posts to tell a good story.

Maybe make an exception on a per match basis, like usually if there's a story, the person knows how many RPs they need, they tell the prez and get the ok?

I'm torn. I post almost every day, but then Ravager has been on or involved in every card since the beginning. But it comes down to quality not quantity. Since there is usually three days between shows, I don't see why a limit of three (maybe four) can't be imposed. Of course, there should be no limit for the Supercards. But that's just me.

Wanna thank Beast for the above point about FNW . . . if we do install a cap, then I'm hoping exceptions could be made for posts that fall outside the story. Friday Night Whyte being a case in point, or the infamous "giant foam" post--that one promo seemed to entertain a lot of people, but didn't involve my wrestler at all and (hopefully) didn't count towards D! / Plague III.

For non match Rp's, like D! was talking about, i think all you would need to do is just tell the prez or put it in the post title, that it's not a match rp. That way everyone knows its for entertainment, or helping out someone. Just a thought.
