Hey everybody,
I think it's time to set a new line in roleplays. I've noticed an increase in the attacking/beating down of non player characters (npcs) and other wrestlers. So here's where I stand, and feel free to discuss this in the thread.
ATTACKING OTHER WRESTLERS Please refrain from attacking other player's wrestlers in your roleplays. I'm fine with the way people have brought other wrestler's into their roleplays, like D! with Plague before the first show, or The Moose stopping Viking and making a challenge. Just...don't attack them or beat them down. They're not yours, you know?
ATTACKING NPC's Bill Fleming, NAPW's whipping boy! I don't mind roughing up of announcers or interviewers, or dudes on the street. And the occasional bar fight or street fight or whatever is totally fine. Be careful with actual NAPW characters, please. It's totally a game, but there's just gotta come a point where the actions of a wrestler towards an announcer cross the line and they should be "suspended" (in story terms.) WWE might have JR get beat up by Triple H regularly with no consequences, but I've never been a fan of that kind of thing. So...take it easy on the guys, especially now that Bill Fleming has been co-opted by Static as his manager/lackey/whatever. Feel free to make a new interviewer or use Jack Attack Jones or Josh Reynolds.
Anyways, let me know what your two cents are on this, and I'll take what we come up with and put it into the rules officially. Thanks for your time, guys!

I was just bemoaning poor Bill's track record Sunday night, but the latest swerve with Static actually makes sense . . . why WOULD anyone let themselves get beat on? Why wouldn't he latch onto the first wrestler that's "nice" to him? So much unexplored drama! Too bad it's not my storyline.
I used Plague without permission (I was up against the cutoff deadline) but didn't write him as weak. I used the Decaps with permission, felt better about it and got more positive feedback than anything else I've done. Permission = Better. Decapitators = Ratings.
I think Viking just hit upon a problem we haven't had yet: it is e-WRESTLING, after all, and beatdowns are kinda inevitable. Personally, I'd rather work a post like that out with the character's owner, but either way, we've got to come to expect it.

I modified my post. I apologize if I went too far. I thought Fleming was still fair game.

I think what we're trying to determine here is how much beating of NAPW staff is acceptable... thanks for all the input, guys.

Oh, was that the question?
I think it's probably a matter of reading other people's promos, then. If Fleming / Reynolds / Jones has already taken their lumps this week, it's overkill to do it again.
Ravager, Fleming is now tied to your storyline, and you're also a heel, for crissake. The original post was fine.

The question is: What rules do we apply to a)using other handler's wrestlers in your roleplays, and b)beating up/attacking NAPW interviewers.
As far as wrestlers are concerned, it should be more or less hands off. I could sit down and write a roleplay where my guy runs into, say, D!, and kicks his ass because I want it to happen that way. It's not fair to D!, because that's HIS character, and ultimately I don't have ownership of that character to have that kind of impact on him.
With NPC characters, I think we need to insert a sense of realism here. Wrestlers can't go around beating up announcers and interviewers all the time, even most of the time. They'd be fined, suspended, etc etc... Not to mention they'd all quit. Triple H might be able to beat up on Jim Ross all year long and not have anything done to him, but it's insulting when the WWE does it and I don't accept it as the "standard."
So, what standards does the NAPW set in regard to using other wrestlers and NAPW-specific NPC's?

I understand the occasional time. But there's got to be a point in continuity that Commissioner Winchell would declare Fleming off-limits. Especially now that Bill Fleming's been co-opted by Static.
I know if Coach Jago was attacked every week by people in roleplays without asking me, I'd be pretty pissed off.
I also know that D! was bemused to see Fleming eating dog biscuits. "That's not where I saw him going after creating him."
Actually, now that Fleming's turned heel, maybe he'll get beat up more. Hell, anyone that watches WWE programming knows that Coachman beatings get cheered every time they happen on RAW.

What happens if my guy runs into, say, D! and I have D! kick his ass?

Haha. I can't imagine too many people would complain about their guy being made to look really STRONG in somebody else's RP... I've updated the NAPW rules page. It seems fair to me, but please check it out and get up to date. Ron, get your butt in the fed. Just no Laughreah.
