We fade to outside the Odgen Legion Hall in Calgary, Alberta as Bob, backstage interviewer to the stars, stands outside the back entrance door. As Bob begins to speak, the door suddenly slams open, and out walks one half of the new NAPW Tag Team Champions, Donovan Astros, wearing his Murder City Devils T-shirt and his gear, pushing a suitcase out in front of him hurriedly.
BOB - Donovan! Mr. Astros, can I get a word with you?
Astros growls at Bob, but keeps on walking. The camera follows the two of them.
BOB - I'd like to get your reaction on the comments by acting Commissioner, Terry Brandon, and the ruling by lead official John Sharpl-
ASTROS - I already heard, now LEAVE ME ALONE. Do I look like I'm in the mood to talk to a spindly, nosy, wannabe reporter right now?
Astros turns to walk away again.
BOB - So you know that on June 19th, you'll be teaming with Chris Casino, defending the Tag Team titles against Casino's regular partner, Sebastien Martyr, and-
Astros freezes in his tracks.
ASTROS - That's where you're wrong, Bob!
BOB - I'm not sure I understand...
ASTROS - There's not going to be a Tag title defense on the 19th. Bob. I'm not going to be a little puppet in Terry Bradshaw's little play. I'm not gonna dance when he tells me to dance, I'm not gonna jump when he tells me to jump, and I'm not going to team with some piece of garbage to amuse the "acting Commissioner", Rex Caliber's personal bi-
Astros stops himself.
ASTROS - Even this ticked off, I'm not going to stoop to that. Bradshaw, you're Rex Caliber's personal puppet. A very sick, disgusting little man, if the pictures I found in your briefcase are to be believed... A sick little troll that's acting out a play for our so-called "esteemed leader". Rex, it's too damned bad that you can't hire a mouthpiece that can keep his property on him, and it's too damned bad you can't hire a tag team that can get the job done. Rees lost, Banks lost, and now you're going to try and put ME through hell because you make poor business decisions?
BOB - What about the match at Winning is Criminal? Are you not going to show up?
ASTROS - Oh, I'll be there on June 19th. And I'll have this with me.
Astros slaps the tag title belt.
ASTROS - Let's call it collateral. I have big, big plans for Rex and his Crimes, but they don't include dancing in his little off-Broadway show.
Astros tries to walk off again.
BOB - One last thing, Donovan, where does this leave you and Jake Phoenix as a team?
ASTROS - I don't know. The doctors were giving him the once over when Bradshaw made his little statement, and I haven't seen him since. I guess it's up to him. Now, if you'll excuse me...
Astros shoves Bob out of the way and walks out as we fade.
