A cold night in h... Edmonton, as we see intrepid backstage reporter Josh Reynolds standing outside the Polish Hall after "Last Resort". Behind him, the exit door opens and out steps Donovan Astros, who has changed into his usual black polo shirt and dress pants, wheeling some luggage in front of him. Reynolds waves him over, but Astros just shrugs his shoulders.
JOSH - Hi, I'm Josh Reynolds, outside the Polish Hall after an exciting night of NAPW action here at Last Resort, and standing by with me now is Donovan Astros, who netted a big win in his NAPW debut, pinning Jake Phoenix in a Triple Threat showdown!
Reynolds beckons Astros over again. Astros shakes his head, looking a little dejected, but finally shakes it off and walks over into the foreground with Josh.
JOSH - Now, Donovan, a lot of fans are probably going to question the way you got the win, basically clipping Jake Phoenix, pulling the tights...
Astros looks less dejected and more irritated at this question.
ASTROS - Look here, Josh, who got his hand raised at the end of the match and which two guys got a taste of greatness firsthand?
JOSH - Well, you won the match an-
Astros cuts him off midstream.
ASTROS - Exactly, kid. You're going to learn that, just like inside that squared circle, in the real world, people don't always take the most ethical route to the top. Those fans out there, they may boo me, but each one of them probably cuts a corner or two at work every day! I'm not doing anything any one of those people don't wish they could get away with. I just do what it takes to win.
JOSH - Well, next week, Donovan, you get a man the fans love, "The Show" Chad Kurtis, but the NAPW Provincial Title won't be up for grabs as "The Show" got cheated out of the belt by "LDK" Lloyd Rees.
ASTROS - I wouldn't call it cheated, Josh.
JOSH - But "LDK" had his feet on the ropes and a handful of tights!
ASTROS - What did I just get done saying, kid? People cut corners all the time. Chad Kurtis wasn't cheated out of anything tonight.
The camera zooms in on Astros, taking Josh out of the shot totally.
ASTROS - Chad, what you did tonight is simple. You failed. You failed yourself, you failed your brother Matthew, you failed Lyndsey, you failed the fans here, you failed everyone! But most importantly, Chad... you failed me. You were supposed to bring me the Provincial title this Tuesday at the Eagle's Hall in Calgary. You were supposed to keep your end of the bargain, to make our match mean something special. But could you get the job done? Heck no!
We zoom back as Josh looks incredulous.
JOSH - I don't know if you actually watched all of that match, but "The Show" definitely gave it everything he had to try and win...
ASTROS - Was it good enough? NO. Was it good enough in the 4 way unification match? NO. Will your best be good enough this Tuesday, when you look into the face of greatness and lock horns with the best damn wrestler on God's green Earth? I don't think so.
JOSH - Strong words from Donovan Astros tonight, and Donovan, I know you have a plane to catch to go back to Los Angeles, is there anything else you'd like to say?
For the first time all interview, Astros busts out the smirk as the camera focuses on him once again.
ASTROS - Yeah, and this is a wakeup call to everyone in NAPW. You saw it tonight, you saw what I can do against overwhelming odds against two men much larger than myself. You saw greatness live and in the ring, and I swear to each and every one of you, I will be wearing gold sooner rather than later, whether that be the Provincial title, one half of the Tag titles... or even the Unified title! You've seen the press clippings, read the news. I'm the one to watch in NAPW, and it should be crystal clear now that your Savior has arrived.
JOSH - Wow, a bold statement there, Donovan. Thank you for the time!
ASTROS - The pleasure's all yours, Josh.
We fade out as Astros wheels his gear off camera.
