-We open backstage after REBEL Pro’s Golden Opportunities inside “LDK” Lloyd Rees’s locker room. A bloodied Lloyd Rees sits in a steel chair after his loss in the Four Corners Survival Match via a Deathrow Driver from “The Superstar”. He is not too happy about the loss, but when are you happy about a loss? Now is not the time to dwell on a loss. Other, more important, things are standing out in the NAPW Provincial Champion’s mind. His friend, mentor, and manager, John Salty, is laid up in a hospital bed after a vicious attack by a man, who for some reason, though that beating Salty within an inch of his life, was a good way to get revenge on the Newfie duo. But the question still remains, who? Also running around in his mind is the fact that, this coming Tuesday at the NAPW show dubbed “The Last Resort”, Rees most defend the very title that is has owned since the day he debuted in the NAPW against the up and coming brash youngster, “The Show” Chad Kurtis. “LDK” brings his focus from the blood-dripped floor to the camera and starts to speak.-
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Chad Kurtis. “The Show”, the PTPer, the Last Action! Hero…Call yerself what ya will, da people will listen, the people will follow but, let me explain t’you da real Chad Kurtis. Kurtis is a great young talent. He is bound fer glory in both da NAPW and REBEL Pro. Someday, da young Bluegrass Mafia member may even hold da big gold belt in one of d’ese prestigious promotions, but dis Tuesday is not da day d’hat da “Kurtis reign of greatness” will begin, not with a victory over da “LDK”, not with dis, me NAPW Provincial Championship, on da line!!
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Chad, as good as ya are, ya ain’t da “LDK”!! Sure, when I unified d’ese very titles ya were da last man stand’n in me way and ya put up a pretty good fight. Hell!! D’hat match might have even been da match d’hat kicked yer career into da next level, but if it’s wrasslin’ greatness ya seek, and we all do, d’hen ya have picked da wrong time and da wrong man t’be yer first victim. Ya see, even though me major focus right now is find’n out who da hell put John on da shelf, I’m still completely focused on you, me NAPW Provincial Title and our match dis Tuesday and d’hat Chad, doesn’t heighten yer chances fer success at “The Last Resort”.
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Ya see Chad, until I find out who did dis t’John, innocent people are go’n t’pay fer his actions and, unluckily fer you, ya just happen t’be da first person I am go’n t’make an example of. So, I would like t’take dis opportunity t’apologize fer da beat’n you’re go’n t’receive on Tuesday at da hands of da “LDK”. I’m not t’stable now and I can’t be held responsible fer me actions but, I do tink d’hat me head is clear enough t’stop beat’n befer it gets t’serious…I hope…
KNOCK! KNOCK!! KNOCK!!
-A voice can be heard from the other side of the door. It is “The Chairman”-
“The Chairman” David Banks: Lloyd, you in there?!
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Come in…
-Banks enters the locker room to find Lloyd staring at the floor.-
“The Chairman” David Banks: Sh**ty about the loss tonight Lloyd…Are you ok?
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Ya, I’m fine…
“The Chairman” David Banks: Are you still wanting to go to the hospital to see John?
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Ya, just give me a few minutes t’get cleaned up…Banks?
“The Chairman” David Banks: Yeah?
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Good stuff other d’ere t’night…
“The Chairman” David Banks: Thanks Lloyd…
-Lloyd hits the shower as the scene fades.-
-We reopen open inside the Dorothea Dix Hospital, room 573. Rees, Banks, and the Doctor are all standing around the sleeping, tube filled, John Salty. Rees looks to the Doctor.-
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: How’s he do’n Doc?
Doctor: He will survive Mr. Rees but, we are unsure of the circumstances of the attack…
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: So, where yer try’n t’say is d’hat he could become a vegetable?
Doctor: There are many possibilities Mr. Rees…
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: How long will it be befer we know da what da long term affects will be?
Doctor: It is hard to tell right now Mr. Rees but, we are willing to do whatever it takes for a speedy and effective recovery.
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Thank you for your help Doctor…
-The Doctor exits the room. Lloyd looks down on John.-
“LDK” Lloyd Rees: Don’t worry John. We’ll get whoever did dis t’you, I promise…
