After the very last Tuesday Night Fights. The massive brawl is still going on in the ring, but Ravager is making his way through the curtains into the back.
October 31, 2005, I wrestle in the very first NAPW match, on the flagship show, Monday Night Fights.. I have a tough opponent, and I leave a champion.
March 20, 2007. I wrestle in the very last episode of NAPW's flagship show. Things are about to change. Except for the fact that I'm still champion. And I still have tough opponents. Casino didn't want any part of me, and he got the hell out of there as soon as he could. But when his hand was forced, he put up a decent fight. Too bad he'll have no one to hide behind on April 17th.
But I get ahead of myself. I got my toughest opponent to date at Sole Survivor. (chuckles) I can hear the Internet pundits screaming already. I guess people who've never actually stepped foot in a wrestling ring, or a gym for that matter, would know better than me who my toughest opponents were. They'll say "What about D! ?" He was a pain in the ass. He took me to the limits. But he also took almost a month off because of cuts to the forehead or a sore back. Hell, he tried to hide his scar. "The old schooler" needed a touque to hide his little scar, when every veteran worth his salt displays their battle wounds with pride. He wanted the glory without the pain. And he never respected his opponent enough. Because he was weak. He let the pressure overcome him, and now he's gone.
Minstrel? Aggravating. Lucky. Ultimately a coward. I never pinned him to the mat. Doesn't mean I never beat him.
Rex Caliber? (smirks) Close. Very close. But not quite.
No. I face a man many pick to be the new face of NAPW. The man who even more are predicting to be the next NAPW champion. "Sick" Billy Kryenik. A man who came back from a broken neck. A man who would come to the ring with a halo screwed to his head, because he loves this business so much. A man who overcame all the odds, and will fight twice at Sole Survivor. To defend his tag title. And to try and win mine. And all I can say is:
Good luck. You're in for the fight of your life. You will have to dig deep to come out on top. And then, once you've defended your tag titles, you get to deal with me. Not the best situation Billy. I respect you. But I question your timing. You had a title shot that could be cashed in at any time, and you chose Sole Survivor. As good a night as any. Except when you already have a title to defend. I'm not a person you want to face when you're not at your best. And no matter how tough you are Billy, you won't be at your best after facing The Untouchables. And the Midnight Cowboys. And Next Generation. You'll be a fine opponent. But you can only do so much.
Josh Reynolds rushes up to Ravager.
Reynolds: Are they still fighting?
Ravager: Judging by the noise, I'd say yes.
Reynolds: Why are you back here, and not out there?
Ravager: Why? Thirty men are out there. Fighting for a shot at this.
Ravager holds up the NAPW title belt.
Ravager: Hell, they're fighting for it a week early. Any one of those men could be my next opponent. And I'd rather have things play out naturally. If I were to attack one of those guys, it would look like I'm trying to take out someone early. That I perceive one of them to be a bigger threat. And I won't insult anyone on the roster like that. I could have a main event match with any of the guys fighting out there. I won't inflate someone's ego to make them fight harder. And I won't deflate someone's ego, causing them to give just a little bit less. I want the best opponent possible.
Reynolds: Well, there are two of your future opponents are already out there...
Ravager: I have too much respect for Kryenik to try and take him out early. Besides, he's going to do that on his own when he defends his tag title. And Casino? Like I'd give him any excuse to duck our match on the 17th. I've been waiting a year to get Casino one on one, and I won't lose that chance by him getting "injured" in the brawl. I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize this title reign. I want to be 100% for every match. Every defense. The fans pay for the best matches possible. It's good business to give it to them. So I'll be ready for "Sick" Billy next week. I'll be ready for every move he can throw at me. I'll be ready to give him everything I've got. And I'll be ready to move on after I win, and defend the title again and again. Now if you'll excuse me, I got a trip to get ready for. See you in Toronto Josh.
Ravager walks off, but stops. He goes back to the ring entrance, and opens the curtains. The brawl is still going on. Ravager smirks.
Ravager: (smirking) Don't wear yourselves out boys. You still got to win the actual match.
Fade to black.
