[Whoa, someone get the Doomriders a translator. Billy is Canadian and can’t even speak the second official language. Deathrow is American, but he ducked out of Spanish class every week. Luckily by the miracle of television, there is a Japanese translator in the NAPW truck and he’s been able to let us all know the translations. So the advantage might have to go to the next pair of fighters the Doomriders have to run over. That pair of course, being the culturally diverse “super” team of Sakai and Santiago; Next Generation.
What did Next Generation do to get their title shot? Well for starters, they are both outstanding athletes. Diverse and lethal. I’m sure you all saw Sakai take on the man mountain Krenshov with his purest form of martial arts. It was impressive to say the least.
But the reason they’re there is of no concern to the Doomriders. What do they care how they got there and why… They’re fighting champions. Billy vowed to defend the titles against any and all comers and that’s just what they will do. It doesn’t stop with Next Generation, it starts.
At Sole Survivor the tag team champions are going to have to defend against Next Generation for a second time… But also The seemingly undefeatable Untouchables and the former champions the Midnight Cowboys. Whoa… now that’s heavy. Three teams gunning for the straps? If I were the Doomriders, I’d be shitting myself. But then again, I’m not a Doomrider…
That’s not it either… Billy took it upon himself to claim his title shot the very same night he has to team with Tommy. Call me crazy, but it doesn’t seem like a good idea to have Billy fight for two championships in one day. Fighting against six other men in the tag team title match is bad enough… and now he wants to fight Ravager? THE HITMAN FOR HIRE? Is he insane?
Ravager is one of the, if not the toughest guy in NAPW. The guy has been up and down the road and won himself heavyweight championship more than once. Not to mention his provincial title and his boat load of other accomplishments. The man is a born leader… so why do it? Why challenge Ravager in the same night that he has to fight for the tag team titles?
SCENE: THURSDAY MARCH 8TH 2007 – EDMONTON, ALBETA somewhat fresh off of Tuesday Night Fight and his announcement concerning REBEL, Billy is in the gym lifting weights. This time it’s a public gym. A gym filled with hot bodies, attractive women and up and coming scrawny bones. Billy is busy working on his pectoral muscles. Billy is shirtless, and wearing track pants with runners. His upper body is fairly toned, but the tattoo’s and scars show a road map of pain, destruction and bloodshed. His large scars on his chest, stomach and back have a few weight lifters wondering what he’s all about. After all, he’s popular in the wrestling scene, but it is believed that this is a place where NAPW superstars aren’t exactly top of the food chain.
It’s a place where Billy doesn’t have to worry about signing autographs while he sculps himself into the best possible shape. It’s just him, the camera man and randoms who are chasing their goals as well. It’s peaceful, and much needed for the current tag team champion.
Billy puts down the weights, walking towards the camera.]
Billy: I love coming here. This is one of my favourite gyms to go to. It’s got great equipment, but that’s not the full reason. It’s mainly because when I come here, I don’t have to worry about people asking for my autograph… or asking me questions. And recently, since Tuesday night all I’ve heard are questions.
[Billy takes a sip of his water and wipes away sweat from his brow. He takes a big sigh in, as a woman on a Lipicle machine squints, as he looks over his body. Billy is comfortable with all of his scars and tattoo’s, but the people of this particular gym are pretty timid of them. Tattoo’s and scars usually leave a raw chicken taste in onlookers mouths.]
Billy: And I’m happy to answer all of them… But when it comes to keeping myself in shape, I need this time to just be by myself. If I come here, the only thing I have to worry about is all of the awkward looks I get when I take my shirt off. I guess these people have a misconception about scars and tattoo’s. As you can see, as you’ve all seen every week, I have a hundreds of scars and enough tattoo’s to show that I’ve spent considerable time under the gun. It’s great though. No matter how much they look at me with an awkward eye, it keeps them from talking to me. It’s like theses people are intimidated by me. Maybe they think I’m a convict? Or a psychopath? Or just plain weird. Who knows, but it’s nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of NAPW stardom.
[Another sip of water, and a seat on a weight bench. Billy shakes his head and clenches his fists together, cracking his fingers.]
Billy: So enough about why I’m here. Enough about these people. Let’s talk about the future. Let’s talk about Tuesday Night Fights, The Doomriders, The Untouchables and Ravager, shall we? It seems there’s a lot up in the air as to what is going on in the Doomrider camp. First and foremost, Next Generation.
Next Generation are one of the highly skilled tag teams in NAPW. They aren’t the number one contenders by any stretch of the imagination. But that doesn’t matter. The Doomriders will take on all comers. Any tag team that has showed that they can hold there own are welcome to try and take these belts away from us. It’s all about competition. It’s all about the thrill of the fight and the sigh of victory when our hands are raises in the air. On Tuesday, it will be no different.
[An attractive woman walks by, as Billy brushes his blond locks back. The girl looks over Billy, as if he doesn’t even notice she’s doing it. Her interest is peaked, and it seems like the people in the gym are becoming more brave. This isn’t his first time here, not by a long shot. Billy doesn’t pay her much attention though. He’d love too, but not when his head is other places.]
Billy: I’m treating this match like a hockey team would treat the first game of the playoffs. We’re going to come out on fire to try and make a clear cut statement as to what the Doomriders reign as champions is all about. This is round one, with Next Generation. Not only do they have this shot to gain the belts, but they also have a shot at Sole Survivor when four teams will throw their fists in the air and swing them wildly. So they’re lucky in some sense, because they get two kicks at the can right off the hop.
But that doesn’t really matter, now does it? Sakai and Santiago are tremendous wrestlers. They’re great wrestlers from their respected countries, but they aren’t good enough to beat the Doomriders. Not yet anyway. They’re worthy but they aren’t ready. There’s a lot of holes in their offence. Martial arts from Sakai is impressive, but those tactics not practical in a wrestling match. Martial arts are very ideal and fun to watch, but when he goes for a spin kick, Tommy and I know it will be coming and we’ll wrap him up in our arms and slam him backwards. The bells will be ringing in his head.
And Santiago, well he’s a great Luchadore, but his size makes his performance questionable. I know, I know. Size doesn’t mean shit. I mean when it comes to wrestling, I’m not exactly the biggest guy. I’m only 6’2 and 229, but even I’m a giant compared to the Mexican Sensation. At 5’3 and 153, the man is simply too small. It’s nothing against the guy, whatsoever. He’s an amazing athlete… but this is a big mans sport. This sport is dominated by guys of size, and that’s because size matters in this sport. It’s easier to small a mother (BLEEP)ers head into the canvas when you have a foot on the guy… and that’s what will happen. Pure domination. Pure control.
Next Generation will be another team in a long line of wrestlers who are going to have to up their game. The Doomriders are playing for keeps and we are’t about to let anyone take our titles away from us. On Tuesday, we will demonstrate just how dedicated to NAPW and these titles we really are. With Sole Survivor, and a huge title defence only a few weeks away, we need to so the Generation what they’re in store for when the big money is on the line. On Tuesday, the international tag team will go down in defeat.
[Billy grabs a towel that sits on a work out bag that is presumed to belong to him. He wipes the sweat away from his face and sets it back down. His tag team title belt glimmers from the light as it sits peacefully in the bag.]
Billy: Speaking of Sole Survivor… Last Tuesday I made my claim of my heavyweight title shot. Ravager was out there, wanting a fight… wanting competition, and I took that time to make my claim. Only, it is also happening at Sole Survivor.
Two matches, both with gold riding on the line. Two of the toughest matches of my career in the same night… and it’s been questioned by boat loads of Doomrider fans as to why I’d stretch myself that thin risk my tag team title in the same night that I try to grab the Heavyweight tile belt.
You see, the answer is quite simple. It’s to make a (BLEEP)ing statement. It’s to show the world that I was not (BLEEP)ing around when I said that 2007 was the Year of the Doomrider. That is exactly what I plan on doing at Sole Survivor. I plan on doing what ever great, successful person has done in the past – take a risk. I’m taking a huge risk, and I plan on cashing out with all the chips.
I am willing to push myself to a limit that I’ve never brought myself too. I am willing to take punches from seven different men in one night… because I have too. BECAUSE THE DOOMRIDERS MUST DOMINATE TO PROVE TO NAPW AND THE FANS THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR!
The Untouchables keep talking about North American Pro Wrestling… a company which will undoubtedly kill the great Canadian heritage that New Alberta Pro has grown with the past year and a half. That can’t happen. Speaking as a true Canadian, born and raises just a stones throw away from where Sole Survivor is taking place in Toronto… I cannot let those group of (BLEEP)ers destroy our heritage. That being said, I have to take things into my own hands and challenge Ravager for that spot.
[Billy sips his water and leans back on the weight bench. He picks up the 120 pound weight bar, grunting and lifting it over himself.]
Billy: There needs to be a clear cut leader in NAPW and I believe that leader is myself and my partner Tommy Deathrow. Don’t get me wrong, this is nothing personal with Ravager. He knows that. I has nothing to do with ability or any kind of heat between us. There is mutual respect coming both ways. It’s just, in these uncertain times, NAPW needs a most certain leader… a man with experience in dealing with guys like Chris Casino. I am that man The Doomriders are that team. We know the Untouchable boys like no other wrestlers in this company.
It’s no secret that Casino has yet to defeat me in an NAPW ring. Kenny Krenshov has come up short twice…. Castle was put to rest in the Canada Cup and O’Brien… well he hasn’t been on the Doomrider radar yet. But knowing that we’ve taken care of all of the other Untouchables, gives me nothing but confidence that we can dispose of him like the piece of trash that he is.
At Sole Survivor, we get to prove that. At Sole Survivor, we get the opportunity to shut the Untouchables up once again, by defeating them in a four way tag team war which will make Doomrider legacy rich with victory. It will also put that knowledge and confidence into the NAPW fans so the know that the Doomriders will not let that group of (BLEEP)ers take away what belongs to the great fans that have supported this company. They WILL NOT take away their passion. They cannot take away their LOVE of NEW ALBERTA PRO WRESTLING!
[Billy continues to lift, and lift, and lift. He is sweating like a beast of burden, lifting… lifting and pushing himself.]
Billy: And when that match is all said and done. When the tag team titles have been decided.. and the Doomriders walk out still holding the Tag Team Championships… I will walk through the curtain once more to fight Ravager to take away his spot as the LEADER of this great company. I don’t expect Ravager to hand it to me. I expect Ravager to beat my ass up all over that ring. I expect him to take advantage of fatigue and exhaustion. I expect him to utilize all of the unique downsides to my double header. He can. He can take advantages of it as much as he wishes.
But it won’t (BLEEP)ing matter anyway. It won’t matter how tired I am. It won’t matter how hurt and bruised I am. Bruises, fatigue, pain? Their just words. Their things that CAN and WILL be overcome. I WILL win the Heavyweight title. I will win it for all the Doomrider supporters. I will win it for Tommy. I will win it for the HONOR AND PRIDE of NEW ALBERTA PRO! There will be no denying me!
[Billy is basically yelling as he pumps the iron above his head. The people in the gym have all turned their heads towards him, wondering if the man has gone insane. ]
Billy: And the next time I enter that ring on Tuesday. With Tommy by my side, and the titles around our waists we will take Next Generation to task and kick the living daylights out of them. They can fight and claw their way to try and steal away these titles, but when it comes to the Doomrider tag team, there is no such thing as defeat. We will not accept a loss from a tag team that isn’t worthy to hold these titles. Next Generation are good, but they are not ready to take these titles and throw them over their shoulders. They’re not ready for the extra ten pounds. So on Tuesday, when we all meet in the center of the ring… They will experience 100,000 volts of electricity flow through their body as The Doomriders force them to RIDE THE LIGHTING!
[Billy puts the weights back on the stand and sits up fully. He looks into the camera, sweating, pumped and completely intense. The camera closes on his eye cold green eyes which burn a hole through the lens…
You do what you gotta do to make an impact. Maybe Billy’s biting off more than he can chew at Sole Survivor. Maybe.
Or Maybe he’s driven to succeed. Maybe he’s got a plan. The only thing that’s clear right now, is Tuesday will be one hell of a fight. Fight for the day. Fight for the Future.]
