"There are moments in time that can change your entire life. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst. It all depends on what Fate has in mind for you. My life changing moment came a little over six years ago Tommy. On a dark rain filled night Fate stepped in and forever altered who I was and what I was to become. I lost everything that night, the only person who really loved me and my unborn child became victims to Fates grand design. All because some drunk bastard decided to get behind the wheel of his car and try to make it home. I, on the other hand only received a scratch that took two mere stitches to close. That cut has long since healed, but it's not forgotten. Sometimes before a big match a run my thumb along the side of my index finger where the scar is...And I remember. Tommy Deathrow, when I look at you, when I see your promos I see one thing. I see man that killed my fiance, my unborn child and even my soul. It's because of people like you that made me what I am. I will never forget. Fate has plans for all of us, I know your fate Thomas. It's me standing over your broken body, it's me covered in your blood, it's me changing your life and leaving you with your own scar to carry. Welcome to the machine."
Inside the private gym that Chris Casino Co-Owns silence holds court. Three souls inhabit the establishment, Raul Havok, Monique Casino and the Pure Honor Champion Chris Casino. Casino is in the ring, shadow boxing oblivious to those around him. Raul and Monique stand by the ring apron alternating between watching Casino and arguing among themselves.
Havok: Really Monique, I don't think you need to be here...
Monique: He's my husband.
Havok: For the time being. I already have lawyers looking into getting your charade of a marriage dissolved. For all I know you drugged Chris that night then got hitched.
Monique: That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Why would I do that?
A beat, and a smile from Raul.
Havok: For his money of course. Not to mention his stock in the Bellagio.
Monique, hands on her hips looks ready to whip some ass.
Monique: I've been modeling for four years now. I've got my own damn money you fat bastard.
Casino stops throwing punches and wheels around to face the duo.
Casino: Enough! Get out of here...Both of you.
Havok: Chris I....
Casino: Go. You too Monique.
Monique: Okay, just remember that we have that appointment tomorrow.
Havok: What appointment?
Casino leans against the ring ropes and beads of sweat fall from him to the floor.
Casino: (shouting) Get out!
His voice echoes though the gym and no other convincing needs to be made. Havok and Monique beat a hasty retreat and argue all the way out of the gym. Casino watches them go, his bright blue eyes showing no emotion.
Casino: Like I need this shit right now....
Casino steps away from the ropes and takes in the camera crew with a long look.
Casino: This is the part where I talk right? Fine, then let's talk. Tommy I saw your promo and I think you're a disgrace. Not only to our profession but to the promotion as well. While I'm no angel you won't see me puking my guts up on national television. Unlike you I have class. Do you belive in Fate Thomas? Do you belive that everything happens for a reason? That we're guided by an unseen hand towards a destiny we're not privileged to know about. I'm not talking about God Thomas...I don't believe in God anymore.
Casino: Fate is about our destiny. It's about what we were put here on Earth to do. For years I've searched for my destiny. Searched for reason why my life has been one tragedy after another. I had a father who neglected me, that is until the Feds came calling. A mother who whored around town to get even with my father, and a woman who loved me struck down by someone like you. Sometimes I ask myself "why me?" But not once have I ever heard a reply.
Casino: Don't mistake me standing here telling you my life story is a plea for sympathy Thomas for that is simply not the case. I just wanted you to know. I wanted you to know that despite my money and my lifestyle I know pain. I know about the darkness. But then...I have a feeling that you too know about that as well. You and I? We're more alike then you might want to admit Thomas. You hide your pain with the bottle, I hide mine by conquering new worlds, breaking new records. But no matter what I do, no matter how many titles I win or how many records I hold...I still feel the pain.
Casino starts to slowly pace around the ring.
Casino: Tommy you puke on national TV and people think you're a riot. I see a man unwilling to look into the abyss. Come Tuesday, cultures will clash and blood will be shed...And you will feel pain Tommy. You will feel the pain of losing a match that everyone expects you to win. You will feel the pain of losing to a man who has never won a gimmick match in NAPW history. You will find that Chris Casino doesn't fear pain anymore. In fact...he lives for it.
Casino: I know that by beating you I can't turn back time and regain what I've lost. But I do know that by beating you with your superstar rules that I can gain a measure of peace within myself. When you lose you'll have to look Billy in the eyes and tell him that you couldn't get the job done. That no matter what you did...Chris Casino wouldn't lat down for you. The morning after our match your world will be changed. No longer will you be considered one of the most dangerous men in NAPW. You'll simply be looked at as another win for the Pure Honor Champion.
Casino takes a seat against a ringpost and wipes a bead of sweat from his eye.
Casino: Your promo has inspired me like none before it. It made me remember what was taken from me. It made me drag skeletons out of the closet I wanted hidden forever. When I watched your promo I couldn't stop thinking...This could be my retribution I've so longed for. Am I willing to bleed? Am I willing to go through a table or take a chair to the head? Hell, I'm ready to put my life on the line to beat you. The Untouchables, the North American Pro Wrestling, none of that means shit to me right now. All I care about is smashing the face of Thomas Deathrow like a ripe pumpkin.
Casino: Once the referee calls for the bell, once they wheel your sorry ass out of the ring on a gurney I can lay to rest some of my ghosts. I can go to my dressing room and know that I took down a drunkard who cares nothing for himself or for others. When they stitch me up I'll be smiling Thomas. I'll have a big shit eating grin on my face because I'll finally have closure. That and I know that your stupid little fans will be weeping as they see the ambulance carry you from the arena.
Casino stops talking and looks around the dark empty gym.
Casino: I know what you're thinking. Here I am bashing a man who drinks, while I make frequent stops at my wet bar. Is it hypocrisy? No. Unlike Thomas I know when to say when. I know not to drink myself into oblivion. I drink, because it's expected of me. That's the part I have to play. We all have our roles in life Tommy D. I'm the philandering millionaire while you're the lush who is a danger to anyone around him. At Tuesday Night Fights I take out the heart of The Doomriders. At TNF I will leave a bloody and ruined Deathrow in my wake as I continue my war.
Casino: Bring your tables, your chairs your barbed wire I don't care. I'm willing to sacrifice my body for the cause. Are you? Are you willing to possibly suffer a career ending injury and have to relinquish a title you've chased after for a year? Fate has brought us together, destiny will decide who walks away...And who gets carried away.
