Okay. So a lack of focus can cost a man. I realize that now. Hell, I realized it before. TEAM dealt me a tough loss. A shift of weight cost me the match, and now I'm out of the tournament.
But Casino's out too. So much for the money match of the Invitational. But I guess it's only fair that the NAPW fans get to see it first. They just have to wait a bit longer for it...
Cut to a boardroom. Ravager sits at the head of the table. The NAPW title placed in front of him.
I suppose you're all wondering why I called this meeting now, and not a few days earlier. I apologize for the lateness. Between the injuries suffered after the match Tuesday night, plus my match in TEAM this past Friday, I have had my hands full.
I would just like to make it clear that I am not using the attack on Tuesday night as an excuse for my TEAM Invitational loss. Fusenhoff was the better man that night. ... And that night only. I will look forward to facing him again when circumstances are different.
Moving on. The Untouchables. Many of you still criticize me for not making a stand against them earlier. You think I played along with them too much when they claimed I was a member. I will reiterate: By playing along, I was given a huge advantage for my title match with Evan Cartwright. Not just a mental one. But also keep in mind, as long as they were claiming to be in league with me, they wouldn't be interfering in my matches. Of course, that advantage is now long gone, but I have proven that I can handle things on my own, as evidenced against Lloyd Rees this past week. Now I get to move on. To the so called "Chairman" of the NAPW.
David Banks. Funny how one injury changes your fate so much. Before Evan gets hurt, you were going to be the guy to wear me down for Lloyd. Sure, the title wouldn't be on the line, but you had the chance to make a big name for yourself, and help your little running buddy's chances of winning back this belt.
(points to the title)
But instead, Cartwright's hurt, and Rees gets his match moved up. And now? Everything that can be gained from this match? It's all for you. Glory. I higher spot in the rankings. The chance to say to people "I beat the top man in NAPW" . So much to gain. And really, nothing to lose. This is your chance to shine. But there's only one problem.
I have had enough of losing for this week. I have a bad taste in my mouth after Friday night. Even after winning on Tuesday, I didn't feel much like a champion. What with The Untouchables laying into me after the match. There are people trying to take the luster of my title reign. Something I worked a year to achieve. Something I bled for. Something I made people bleed for. And people call me a paper champion. Even after two clean wins over the champion and the former champion, there are doubts. Doubts I need to erase. Doubts I will erase by taking you out David. Your a rising star. You've proven you'll do anything to win. You've made profitable alliances, to be sure. But when Rees' match got switched, your destiny got switched as well. You went from potential spoiler to a man in my way. A man I need to beat to relieve tension. I man I need to use to send a message. I got to send a message to four men who will fight to face me for the title in two weeks. I get to send a message to whoever may face me at Sole Survivor. I got to send a message to anyone at TEAM: One loss will not make me go away. I will come back stronger. I will come back more focused. I will come back and inflict pain. And I need to send a message to a certain Pure Honor Champion:
Sooner or later, Chris.
David Banks. This Tuesday. You get the biggest match of your NAPW career so far. And me? (chuckles) I try to make a point that every match I have is the biggest one of my career. So I'll always have something to lose. And more importantly, something to gain. This match? It's respect. Self respect, respect from the fans, and respect from opponents. Respect from you.
Nothing personal David. This is just business.
Meeting adjourned.
Ravager gets up and leaves.
Fade to black.
