[The scene opens backstage after MNF, where J.C. Cook and his girlfriend Monica are walking around after his brief appearance. They stop in their tracks as Josh Reynolds appears in front of them. J.C. removes his sunglasses places them in his pants pocket as the scene continues]
Monica:
I'll leave you two to it.
J.C.:
Sure thing doll.
[And Monica makes a quick exit before Josh has even said a word]
J.C.:
Do you always have that effect on women Josh? And before you answer, that was a rhetorical question.
Josh:
Okay. J.C. Cook, what brought you to Monday Night Fights tonight?
J.C.:
Man, I thought that was obvious. I came here for one reason... Well, two reasons and two reasons only. Mirage and Misery.
Josh:
Anything in particular?
J.C.:
Firstly, I came here to see Misery get his ass handed to him by someone I thought could handle the challenge. But it turns out Mirage wasn't as good as he thought. I mean after last week when Misery and Nightmare attacked me after my match against Death - blindsiding me - I wanted someone to teach that clown a lesson.
Josh:
... And?
J.C.:
And, it's not been a fruitful expedition. I thought Mirage might be able to cut the cheese, but I was wrong. I can admit that so now I'm going to get in that ring with him myself on Action!
Josh:
And what about Misery?
J.C.:
That masked clown?
Josh:
If that's how you refer to him.
J.C.:
I'll get to him in a second. And then again at 'Black Thursday'. You see Josh, the first obstacle in my way is Mirage, and then comes Misery. Sure he took me to my limit during my debut, and then blindsided me just last week... But I'm going to take my time when it comes to him. This Thursday I'm going to show the fans of NAPW what I'm capable of. I will take Mirage past his limit and I'll be sending a message out to Misery.
Josh:
Which would be what exactly?
J.C.:
Josh, I can't tell you that. It would ruin the surprise. You see, when someone who I can only assume is a freak of nature threatens me with living in some rubbish heap and worshipping like a messiah, I take that personally. So, along with the attack, I've grown to dislike Misery! And anyway, I'm far too beautiful to even think about wearing a mask! So this Thursday on Action! I'll show Misery what he has coming to him, and if that social leper, that pariah is thinking about 'Black Thursday', the only thing he has to remember is J.C. Cook Hates Misery!
[With that, J.C. Cook storms off down the corridor without Josh Reynolds getting another word in as the scene fades to black]
