JOSH REYNOLDS: We have packed The Arena in Medicine Hat...with over THREE THOUSAND LOYAL FANS!! and tonight is a special DVD taping. As you can see the Royal Cage is already up and that is our opening match.
The guys have been here since the NAIT Athletic Center, in Edmonton opened it's doors to a new Indy Federation last Halloween. They are the most successful tag team in NAPW history. They are Stylin. They are Beast. They are The New and Improved DX. They go into night, a mere Twenty days away from NAPW's Anniversary Show, to face another grand challenge. They've won ladder matches, they've beat the best. But never before have they entered into THE ROYAL CAGE. Two guys, who insiders say remind them of DX of a year ago. They've earned another shot at the titles and made it on their own terms. Can DX survive the Royal Cage? Or will The Royal Foundation go down once again to the "Man With Blood" on his hands, and his Beastly partner?
FRANK WARBURTON: The opening contest is for the NAPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP, and will be a ROYAL CAGE MATCH. To win a team member must capture the TAG TEAM TITLES.
The Royal Cage is an ominous structure, with it’s domed roof, allowing for no escape. The NAPW Tag Titles hang over the ring. To win, one man must climb the ladder to retrieve them. The cage is already set up and we hear "Royal Foundation" by AkForty. Thomas Young and Prince Darko enter The Arena in Medicine Hat, to Three thousand people booing the hell out of them. They enter the cage as Frank does his duties.
FRANK WARBURTON: Introducing first, the challengers. They come in at a combined weight of Four hundred Fifty-Five pounds, THOMAS YOUNG, PRINCE DARKO, COLLECTIVELY KNOWN AS THE ROYYYALLL FOUNDAAAATIOON!!!
"LOW" and the place comes unglued. The old stomping grounds revisited and DX is the fan favorites, no doubt. They look at the structure and take off there gold on the outside of the ring.
FRANK WARBURTON: And their opponents, weighing in tonight at Five hundred Twenty Seven Pounds, the current, reigning and defending NAPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE NEW AND IMPROVED! DEEEEE
XXXXXX!!!
The Royal Foundation of Prince Darko and Thomas Young stand in the ring, ready for the champs. “Stylin” Kyle Roberts and Bruce “The Beast” Richards take a moment to survey the madness that awaits them and keep in mind the ladders and tables haven’t even been brought out yet! then rush into the cage, eager to make this a quick match. Young and Darko are quick to meet the champs, and punches are thrown as referee Dick Kiebiech calls for the bell. D-X’s manager Bill Fleming shouts encouragement from ringside. Young and Richards wind up tangled in the ropes, as Roberts tries to throw Darko into the cage. Darko reverses, but “Stylin” Kyle manages to stop himself from smashing into the metal. Roberts doesn’t have time to feel proud of himself, as Darko boots him in the face. Meanwhile “The Beast” has gained the upper hand on Young, and slams the challenger to the mat. Now Richards is looking for something… and he finds it. A steel chair. Simple. Classic. And now being driven into Young’s throat! “The Beast” choking out Young with the edge of the chair… and Darko races in to save his partner. A swift kick to Richards’ back, and the choke is broken. “Stylin” Kyle back in the ring, and he has another chair! He swings with a gusto, but the Royals duck. And Kiebiech ducks as well, since Roberts is getting a bit over zealous. Richards grabs the chair away from Kyle, and points him towards Young and Darko, who are using the momentary distraction retrieve a ladder! They try to slide it into the ring, but Roberts with a baseball slide, knocking the ladder into the Royal Foundation! And now Richards comes running and Plancha onto the Royal Foundation! And the ladder! With three men down, Roberts decides to capitalize! He grabs the ladder, gets it into the ring, and sets it up under the belts. He starts the long climb, but Young has just enough to get back in and drag Roberts down!
Young and Roberts trade blows, neither man backing down, until Young plants his foot right in Roberts’ junk! “Stylin” Kyle sinks to the mat as Young grabs the ladder and slams it into the small of Roberts’ back! Roberts yells in pain, as Young slams it down again! Darko and Richards fight on the outside, as Young props up the ladder in the corner. He whips Roberts in… no! Roberts runs up three rungs of the ladder and moon-saults onto Young! Meanwhile Richards tries to slap the claw on Darko, but Darko fights the hold, and drop toe holds Richards into the cage! Darko slides into the ring to help out Young, as Roberts is going for the belts! A forearm to the kidneys stops Roberts’ progress , then Darko slaps on the Monarchy! Roberts is down and hurt, and the Royal Foundation are going to make the climb for the gold! Young works his way up! Roberts is having trouble getting to his feet, but Richards recovers enough to slide in and pushes the ladder over! Young crashes onto the ropes, and gets his legs tangled! Darko is torn, as his partner needs help, but Richards is going for the belts! Darko makes the hard decision and goes after Richards. Both men climb for the gold! They get to the top of the ladder, and start trading punches, trying to knock the other man off! Richards seems to be getting the better of things, he throws another punch… and Darko moves his head, catches Richards wrist, and arm drags him off the ladder! Both men crash to the mat! Roberts is on his feet but groggy, and Young has finally freed him self from the ropes and rolls to the floor! And now there is a bit of commotion among the fans… Roberts has slapped the Bear Tamer on Darko, but … someone is making his way through the crowd towards ringside…
Coach Gordon Jago. He has a serious look in his eyes, and he has a single minded purpose of getting to the cage. Neither member of D-X has noticed Jago yet, but Thomas Young has. And the Coach just slipped something to Thomas Young! Young slides back into the ring and NAILS Roberts with a punch. Roberts goes down… Jago slipped Thomas Young Brass Knuckles! Richards starts yelling at Jago, but he too gets nailed by Young! Bill Fleming is now racing over to confront Coach Jago, who takes off through the crowd, but the damage may already be done… No, wait, Young punches Roberts again, and the blood is starting to flow from the Stylin’ One’s forehead. Darko has a sleeper on Richards, trying to knock the big man out, so there’ll be no stopping their attempt to climb the ladder! The fans boo heartily, as they smell a screw job. Young tosses Stylin Kyle outside, then drives him into the cage! The cut on Roberts forehead opens a bit more. … then even more as Young grinds Kyle’s face against the cage. Richards looks to be nearly out in the ring, and Darko releases the hold, ready to make the climb…
Bill Fleming is almost screaming at Bruce Richards to wake up! The fans are stamping their feet, yelling, and Richards starts to stir. He gets to all fours just as the dazed Darko gets to the top of the ladder. He has his fingers on the belts, he’s close enough to grasp them… but then the ladder starts to shake. Bruce Richards is up, and he’s shaking the ladder! Thomas Young jumps on Richards and pulls him away! The two men start trading punches, Richards trying to break away, Young trying to hold him back. What neither man notices is that a bloody Kyle Roberts has climbed to the top rope! Body press onto Young and Richards! All three men fall back ONTO THE LADDER! The ladder tips over! Darko crashes all the way to the floor! The fans go crazy! Roberts gets up first, a crazed look on his bloody face! He slides out of the ring, looking underneath, he pulls out a table! He slides it into the ring and sets it up. Richards drags Young to his feet and plants him onto the table! Roberts sets up the ladder, and he’s climbing. But he’s not after the belts yet. He’s not normally a high risk wrestler, but this is not an ordinary night. The fans are on their feet as they anticipate… HUGE SPLASH BY ROBERTS! The table is in splinters! Young is out! Roberts is rolling around in pain! Darko is on his feet, but not for long, as Richards dives through the ropes to crash Darko into the cage! Darko is hurt and bleeding! Roberts is on his feet, and goes to the ladder! Slowly he climbs, trying to keep his balance! Finally he makes it to the top! He gets his footing, reaches out! Young is crawling over to the ladder, but it’s too late, as Roberts pulls the belts free! Kiebiech calls for the bell, and the New And Improved D-X have not only retained the titles, but beaten the Royal Foundation at their own match!
Jeff James runs out and is trying to get in the cage. He has keys to it. He is coming in there and trying to lock it, but BRIAN BRUNO IS RUNNING DOWN. He stops Jeff knocking him back. The cage is being lifted up and Jeff runs away. Bruno sees Darko and BRUNO BOMBER ON DARKO. Bruno yells something about "PAYBACK". This place is a mess as Bruno helps Kyle and Bruce up.
FRANK WARBURTON: The winners of the match and STILL NAPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, THE NEW AND IMPROVED DEEEEEE!!! XXXXXX!!!
Cartwright and Bickle, Bickle and Cartwright. The Violence International representative is fresh from his comeback from injury, and has called out Patrick Bickle to continue his way up the ladder.
