Dream Lineup

Ryan Ro and I were tooling around with this on MSN, and I thought it might make an interesting question on the OOC Boards. Basically it spawns out of "If the WWE were merging the brands, and had to trim the fat, what 30 wrestlers would they keep?"

That's a good question on it's own, but I struck onto another good one.

If you could pick any 30 wrestlers - from any promotion - to round out the roster of your own promotion, who would they be? If you only know WWE, or TNA, by all means pick from there. Know some Puro guys you'd bring from Japan? Throw 'em in. Feel free to be as descriptive or brief as you want.

I'll post my own list in a bit.

I'm drafting title belts too. ;D

My main event title (the World Heavyweight Title - big gold) would start out being contested by Triple H, Samoa Joe and Shawn Michaels. I'd have Triple H as the first Champion of my promotion.

The midcard title scene would be built around the X-Division Title. Alex Shelley, Austin Ares and Jack Evans would start in here. I'd probably crown Shelley to start.

My Tag Team Titles would be contested by The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff) and the Briscoes (Mark and Jay) to start with. The veteran Hardyz would be used to help put over the Briscoes, who would be my first Tag Champs. The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio) would be waiting in the wings to challenge.

Other early feuds I would build upon would be Chris Benoit versus Bryan Danielson, William Regal versus Nigel McGuinness and Edge and Christian (reunited in heelish glory) versus the Neo Solar Temple (Ultramantis, Hallowicked and Hydra).

These are in no order on who WWE needs most, the #'s are just for organizational purposes.

1. John Cena - Let's face it, WWE needs him, whether we like it or not.

2. Rey Mysterio - WWE also needs him to keep the foreign and "hip" fans happy.

3. Undertaker - 15-0 at Wrestlemania, nothing more, nothing less.

4. Batista - The Animal is greedy and selfish, but he keeps the momentum going.

5. Edge - Even know most everybody hates him, he's probably held more titles and done more spectacular matches than Hulk Hogan and The Rock combined.

6. Shawn Michaels - The Heart Break Kid is and always will be the "Show Stopper."

7. The Great Khali - With the Big Show gone, WWE needs some size and dominance, and Khali is the man for the job.

8. King Booker - If he went back to being Booker T he would be better, but WWE needs Booker, he's the 5-Time! 5-
Time! 5-Time! 5-Time! 5-Time! WCW Champion!

9. Teddy Hart - When he finally airs on television, alongside the other "New Hart's", it will be a day to remember. He's cocky and a bitch, but awesome in the ring.

10. Chris Jericho - My favorite wrestler needs to return home, he cocky and cool, exactly what WWE is.

11. Jack Evans - Another one of my favs, Evans is a risk take, something WWE hasn't been using a lot of.

12. Triple H - The name speaks for itself.

13. Ken Kennedy - Though I hate his guts out, Kennedy is a great talker with good ability.

14. Jeff Hardy - Great charisma, but he needs to work on his beer belly a little... no offense.

15. Matt Hardy - Yet another one of my favs, the underrated brother has what it takes to be a great WWE
Champion.

16. Shelton Benjamin - C'mon, look at his high jump!

17. Charlie Haas - The 2nd half of the duo of Benjamin and Haas, Charlie is a skilled matt wrestler. (Needs to work on vocals.)

18. Finlay - Damn, this guy is mean. Keep it up!

19. Hornswaggle - So funny to watch! (No offense!)

20. Kane - How could I not include him, it's almost May

22. Chris Benoit - He'll always been remembered for great

23. Sonjay Dutt - WWE needs some small guys to bring back the Cruiserweight division.

24. Jay Lethal - Yet another good Cruiserweight WWE could add.

25. Petey Williams - If only Trevor Murdoch could have pulled off that Canadian Destroyer WWE wouldn't have needed him.

26. Mark Henry - He's the World's Strongest Man (or was?), of course he'd be on here.

27. Torrie - Damn!

That's one thing I didn't build, is a women's division. With only 30 spots, I decided to focus on standard men's wrestling. If I'd given myself five more slots, I'd have probably taken five talented women.

I'm going to be cheap here, simply because I don't personally think one fed with the best would work, I don't want ROH guys ruined in WWE, anyways.

But if ROH could get Benoit, Rhino, Edge & Christian, The Hardyz (ThankyouAllanIknowthehardyzwrestledinrohandthesmartspretendedtheyweretoocool,iknow), Abyss and say RVD and The Sandman, well.

Now that would be one hell of an ROH fed.

I just hope that somehow, someway, we get to see Benoit vs these indie guys. Benoit/Danielson, Benoit/Joe, Benoit/McGuinness...
