Hey guys, just telling you that my column gonna be a little late this week. I'm just exhausted in between a Final Exam, a birthday party and two wrestling shows. But have no worries, it'll be in by tommorow.

lol. Too bad PWA's shutting down in a few months. Are they or aren't they? Marky says the whole thing was an over reaction. Will we ever know the whole truth about the PWA?

I can't really talk too much about wrestling in Edmonton as I've only been to a few PWA shows. But one night I was talking to a guy who asked me about MPW, which until that night I had never heard of. He said the MPW shows usually draw a couple of hundred a show and they were in the midst of a TV deal. I always met to follow that up a bit by catching a show but I'm in the military and I've been away since pretty much September/October so I'm out of the loop.
Point is... If PWA does go under, MPW might be a viable option which would probably be a nice shot in the arm talent wise.
Oh and I've seen a RCW show before. Unfortunately I brought some guys (skeptical to wrestling) to come out and watch. We drank some beers, laughed... Mostly laughed, and after the show agreed never to talk about the show again. I also had to promise to never bring up the subject of wrestling while around them.
Anywho... No real point to this... Kinda just rambling cause I'm bored to tears.

When I was still in ETown I was curious about MPW but never managed to get out to one. I've read that they draw a couple hundred people regularly... and don't seem to get cancelled/rescheduled nearly as much.
I was getting pretty frustrated with PWA's bad scheduling, booking and late late starts. I dunno. I wish I'd checked out MPW, but I will one day.

Are they or aren't they? Marky says the whole thing was an over reaction. Will we ever know the whole truth about the PWA? The overreaction was people saying that NAPW was dead as of their last show. They still got a few more shows left in them, apparently. But come summer? Time to find another promotion to back. Me? I've already got one, but details on that one will follow later.

You mean of course, "PWA" when you say "NAPW."
I can dream though.

My bad. Sometimes I get those two acronyms confused.

MPW has a TV show an ACCESS (local Edmonton station) Friday at 1am (you can watch ECW, then switch over to local indy wrestling).
MPW has a crap website, but they apparently have a decent setup, decent wrestling, and their shows start on time.

MPW's website is over-ambitious and doesn't fucntion well. PWA's website functions better but looks like shit and has little information on it lol.
At least MPW takes the time to do some promo shots of their wrestlers. I love how on the new PWA card, they use an old pic of the Karachi Vice from when they were tag champions and just black out the bottom part which has their titles.

if PWA is truly going under, then it will be surely missed.
guess I have to start going to MPW shows then.
but then again, what about all the talent who worked for PWA or broke their bridges with MPW? they'll be out of a job, which is SAD.
