It's happened to all of us. We get a PPV thinking the main event will rock and what happens? We get a crap-tacular match that makes us feel cheap and used. The following are my five best (worst?) PPV matches I was fooled into getting.
In no particular order.....
Triple H vs Scott Stiener - Royal Rumble - 13 minutes of sheer agony. Steiner moved around like my grandmother and used the same suplex again and again and again. Worst of all they had a DQ finish and a rematch a month later - ARGHHH!!!
Extreme Elimination Chamber - December To Dismember - I love the Elimination Chamber, but this match suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. Test? Hardcore Holly? Lashley? WTF!?
Brock Lesnar vs Hardcore Holly - Royal Rumble - Hmmmmmmm like the sign says "who booked this?" Ugly match that lasted like nine minutes or so. I belive Hollys only title shot, with good reason.
Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle - The dream match of the past couple of years and what do we get? 15 minutes of finishers. The second match helped get the taste out of my mouth from the first. I can only hope the third is at least decent.
Goldberg vs Lesnar - Wrestlemania - Okay this wasn't the main event but I included it because I wanted to see these guys wrestle. No seriously. What did we get? A match that showed that you don't have to be talented to be a wrestler.
Those are my five. How I hate them.

I kind of liked Brock/Goldberg, just for the fan reaction. But Steiner/HHH made me want to cry.

Goldberg/Lesner had potential the problem was both men were elaving the compant after Mania so WWE wasn't sure what to do and who toput over, what made it worse was the fact it was all over the net that they were both leaving so the fans knew and shitted all over the match.
Most recently my friend ordered Survivor series and had a bunch of people over to watch, when batista/booker t came on we all knew the ending especially since they hyped the vent as taking palce from where Batista gave up the belt without losing. Everybody pretty much ignored the tv and started talking about other stuff and doing other things.

That was a bad match to end an otherwise okay PPV.
Sid vs Chris Benoit for the title, in Benoit's last match ranks up there among the worst PPV main events. It's a passable match, but they have the entire locker room "empty" to come watch such an "important" match. It's a shameful attempt to make the match feel special when nobody really cared about anything in WCW anymore. Listening to The Brain try to sell it was horrible.
Obviously near the end of WCW's run things were bad but it was just a brutal, phony and embarassing situation.
Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry to CLOSE Royal Rumble 2005 was pretty bad. Brutal shitty match, the Rumble should finish the damn show. NOT Mark Henry. Even Angle couldn't make it good. If you count both title matches as "main events" the brutal Edge/Cena match was equally shit. Three weeks before at NYR, after a horrible Elimination Chamber match that ended with TWO roll-ups (Carlito/Masters, Cena/Carlito --- wtf why are Carlito/Masters in at the end of an Elim Chamber?), Edge uses his Money IN The Bank for TOTAL MARK-OUT and wins the belt. Then at Rumble, Cena gets a crazy space-ramp entrance and makes Edge tap clean. WTF? Why the hell did that happen?
Cena/Edge obviously ended up continuing well into 2006 but Cena/Edge with Cena winning the belt back as the WM main would have been way, way better.
God I hate WWE right now.

there's been to many bad matches to count just one
Cena is garbage Umaga is Samoa Joe with war paint and broken cigars Lesnar was cool at one point, then i think we all realized that when he's stupid enough to try a Shooting Star, clearly he doesn't deserve fans. Goldberg, always hated him. Never been a fan, him or Austin. Give me Benoit and Malenko. Scott Steiner is quite possibly the worst wrestler ever. I don't know how a guy with tennis balls injected in his arms makes a living for his "skill". Rick was the better wrestler, and thats not very reassuring.
this one wasnt a PPV main event tho but...
Buff Bagwell vs Booker T in the debut WCW match in WWE.... wow.

The Steiners was great back in the day - if you only wanted to watch guys do belly to belly suplexes and injure everyone in sight

The Steiners were once awesome, no doubt about it.
You know Scotty was pretty good in his last TNA run, no joke. Anyways.

meh, i didnt mind them when there were battling the Road Warriors and the Twin Towers in early WCW late NWA era, but once they had their run with the WWF in the early 90's i found them kind of boring.
Im more of a Michael P.S. Hayes - Freebirds kind of guy. Ow Ow.

Their WWF run wasn't much. I was watching the Road Warriors DVD a while back, and their WWF stuff paled compared to their NWA and indy stuff.
I think those teams really were hampered by WWF's less-physical and less-"realistic" style, because when they were in a more athletically based promotion like NWA they both were awesome. Steiners vs Sting/Luger is one of the best tag matches I've ever seen.
Bad Main Event: Really any Hogan as NWO champion match that ended in a bullshit finish, but specifically Sting vs Hogan. I mean it's legendary by now. Build Sting up for a YEAR. Get him more over than he has been possibly ever. Hogan never gets beaten. Finally, Sting vs Hogan. STING WINS. BOOM.
Instead... we get Hogan beating up Sting for most of the match, then Hogan pinning Sting. Clean. Oh sure Bret Hart runs down and restarts the match due to a supposed fast count, but reports suggest Hogan told the ref the fast count was no longer part of the match. Sting wins in the restart, but they blew the biggest main event they possibly ever had and from then on the NWO angle went off the rails and downhill...

NWA was awesome back in the day. I wish i didnt have to relive all the evnts on VHS tho. I mean it would have been much better had i seen the events live or on tv.
