This thread is a hypothetical of What if the Comic Movie boom had hit in the 50,60's and 70's? Now I'm not talking about Adam West as Batman I'm talking serious blockbuster films? With Directors like Hitchcock Wilder, and Kubrick, and the big actors of that time or the big actors of today that were jsut getting started back then. Who would you cast for what movie?

Batman Circa 1980 Directed by Martin Scorsese as his next feature after Raging Bull Christopher Walken fresh off Deer Hunter as The Joker Woody Allen as The Riddler reteaming Walken and Allen from Annie Hall, this might seem like an odd choice, but as a counter aprt to Walken's Joker I think this could be great. James Stewart as Alfred, Stewart would be 72 for this role and I think from his experience in previous roles he could easily pull off this character. Robert DeNiro as Commishioner Gordon re teaming with Scorsese after Raging Bull, and pairing up with Walken again after Deer Hunter. I'm having a hard time coming up with a good actor to play Bruce Wayne/Batman circa 1980 that would mesh with this cast, any suggestions?

I think a Incredible Hulk movie in the 80s would have been cool. Of course it would have to be action oriented with a special effects Hulk, but then have a very human story with Bruce Banner.
Director: James Cameron - This man knows how to make action movies, so it would come after Terminator and Aliens.
Bruce Banner: Tom Hanks, he just has a lovable presence on the big screen and, shows this lost vulnerability in Big but he has a very human side that comes out and would make a perfect and sympathetic Banner.
Betty Ross: Phoebe Cates, she can be pretty sexy and have that girl next door feel to her from films like Gremlins and Fast Time at Ridgemont High. I think she could be that sweet girl opposite Banner.
General "Thunderbolt" Ross: R. Lee Emry, he'll always be known for being the drill instructor in Full Metal Jacket and you know he's perfect for the role being a company man for the Army and one major badass.
The Leader: Christopher Lloyd, Doc would be perfect for the Leader but I would have play close to his Judge Doom role in Roger Rabbit. I think he can be quite evil and very underrated in a heavy role.
The Story:
The first scene would have Tom Hanks narrating about the night his life ended, and a dark monologue about rage, hate the contempt he feels for himself now. All the while Bruce Banner working on his gamma experiment.
Cue, General Talbot aka The Leader who wants to pull the plug on the experiment and there's a struggle leading to something causing a big explosion to pretty much start the movie and curse both Talbot and Banner.
Cut to live news reports of buildings crashing and cars being thrown around as complete carnage is happening and a blurry image of the hulk before a flying bus or something takes out the camera keeping track of whats happening. Then you'd show the news chopper falling down like a heap to the ground followed by some army jets locking on and trying to bring down something in the rubble of several buildings. Missles launch and it looks like a hit, the Jets fly back and we shift to General Ross going over his mission against the Hulk.
Other subplots include the Leader pulling the strings of the army to capture Hulk/Banner to heal his degenerative cancer from the gama explosion. Of course there would be a Leader becoming Abomination to fight Hulk to give the big climax fight of monsters.
Also we have to play up the love story with Betty and Bruce, which can never be because of the circumstances. I would end the movie with those two, edge of a cliff or maybe top of the empire state building, where Bruce would give her one final kiss and fall off the edge into darkness where he gives one final monologue ending with "Maybe Bruce Banner never existed..." and like a quick blur of a raging Hulk to end the credits.
