There is indeed a Bill McNeil and you have to ask permission for use. On the page it reads off the names and before Megan it's a period not a comma.
Megan Adams, Terry Brandon and Bill McNeil may be approached via Private Message on the forum for permission to use in roleplays. Permission for all other characters can be granted by NAPW Pres only. Feel free to invent a new NAPW staff character for your roleplay!
I'll give Chopper permission for the rp's he has already wrote, as it looks weird on the page.
Thanks Bill

Is it just me, or did that post come off as rather non sequitor to the thread?

Possibly, but as a "new cat" was the one who used Bill without permission, then I'd say that was the rationale behind that post. You want non-sequitur?TRAINS

All I can say is Im sorry. never been in a fed where the personalities were real. There usually put there to help enhance the players RP's. Obviously if he is handled by a real person that pretty much makes him useless to me in a way because as in real wrestling the personalities are there to help with character building and that may mean from time to time the will be embarassed, beat up and so on. If he has a real handler thatn most likely he is going to want his charcter handeld in a certain way. i would suggest you add a few personalities that are not handled so that we as players can use them freely with out having to wait for permission or handle them in a certain way. For me If I have to wait for permission to use somebody that usually will mean I will not have time to RP because my time is so limited. just a suggestion though and I'll just come up wtih my own character to handle the show. i just think it would be better with an already established NAPW personality. Peace.

Josh Reynolds and the referees (minus Kiebiech, who Boston Dave gave a very specific identity) are basically free for use. Makin' up your own personality is fine as well.
Bill mcneil and Megan, by virtue of writing columns regularly, were wanting to be kept a certain way. I'm fine with them being made to look dumb here and there. It's just something that happened here. The problem is that 95% of the heels are going to beat up the announcers and at that point it loses all goodness. Even in real wrestling I don't think announcers/commentators being beat up/made fun of is really great TV. Whoo, somebody's beating up JR again!
But at other times if you're a heel, you're going to make fun of Michael Cole or the Coach (before he turned heel) and shove them out of the way. Let's face it, The Rock making fun of Kevin Kelly and the Coach was comedy GOLD.
Hey Bill! When are you going to write again? Cos seriously dude, why am I protecting your guy when he doesn't contribute?

By the above, I mean: Faces make fun of dorky commentators, and heels bully the popular ones. It's just a matter of give and take.
This makes me think, why protect characters that don't contribute?

I've always been open to doing the show, Late Night with Bill McNeil, but no one has asked except for Superstar Tommy, who asks every week but never tells me when. Column on the other hand, there's not much time for.
A side note that Megan's handler is no longer with the company right now, but maybe in the future. But I doubt they check the boards. So maybe the Pres can let her be a regular one, like Josh. Also if the pres wanted to do the same with Bill, it's cool but I won't do any interviews and edit like before.

Megan Adams is open for business! Uh...
Anyways, just don't portray as a ditzy broad. She's smart and used to date wrestlers. NEVER AGAIN.

Well, you also gotta keep in mind that with multiple writers, continuity is at risk. If someone established a certain 'open' staff member as having a sense of humor, making him an emo kid in the next guys post comes off as cheesy and fake.
Once canon is established, it's hard to go back. Look at all the comics in the world that have had multiple writers... The continuity suffers for it.

Or makes them awesome, like Batman. Since we're acknowledging the elephant in the corner, yeah, Adams' last handler ain't with us, but he didn't create her, either. McNeil's ready and roarin' to go, and welcome back, Bill, but we either need a new Adams, or we drop her. And no, I'm not volunteering.
