Aren't those bands like, basically the same band with different members?

no. Have you ever heard any of them? I'm pretty sure he has., which is why he's asking a prefectly good question. They're all pretty interchangeable.

Really? I've heard all of them, and they all sound VERY different. I've also seen all of them in videos, nobody looks familiar AT ALL.
EDIT: But they might share certain members around, yes, I suppose that is possible.

But the sound is pretty similar, in the fact that it's all (in my opinion, anyway) crappy rock that sounds the same when you listen to a station full of it.

Ultimately it's an opinion thing. They are different bands, Jacob, I'm being pretty snarky. I don't like those bands very much, to me, they sound generic and ultimately interchangeable (especially that damn Theory Of A Deadman. They're like...nickelback. Almost exactly.)
But let me say one thing: Like what ya like, and ignore what old music snobs like me say. Hell. I used to be in love with Bush X.
At least you like music.

You crazy kids and your wild music! My list is pretty tame. Plus I have no idea who 99.9% of the bands you mentioned are. Anyway here are my "current" top five favorite albums. In no order. #1. Rob Zombie - Past, Present & Future #2. Marvin Gaye -Gold #3. Prince - Sign O' The Times #4. Queen - Greatest Hits #5. Nirvana - Unplugged

I am incapable of doing this list. Too many good albums. Let's see though...
Stavesacre-Speakeasy Skillet - ...probably Invincible to represent their catalogue and my love for them Delirious? - Glo probably, but again more to represent everything they've done.
Project 86 - Songs To Burn Your Bridges By
Cush - The New Sound
Matthew Good - Avalanche
Starflyer 59 - Old
Common Children - Delicate Fade
Bleach - Again, For The First Time
Michael Knott - let's go with Rocket & A Bomb
sure, that's good.

Most influential albums for me, growing up to about a year ago:
1. Tom Waits - Frank's Wild Years 2. Neil Young & Pearl Jam - Mirrorball 3. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abbattoir Blues 4. Elvis Costello - When I was Cruel 5. REM - New Adventures in Hi-Fi
And now in this IPod age, I don't even bother with albums anymore. Or haven't been so tempted to get anything for the entire album and not just one song. Ah, well.
