Wow. Just . . . wow.
Just started playing it tonight. They've actually added match psychology. I don't see myself getting sick of this for a while.

I've never been able to get into the Smackdown series. Too fast-paced and ...hitting chokeslams and dude's getting up in two seconds. Too much of a button masher for me. No Mercy, the AKI engine, that's where it's at.
Day Of Reckoning 2 on Cube was decent, but still no No Mercy. Sigh.

Well, that's why this game's light years ahead of the rest of the series. Moves take energy. Chokeslams, powerbombs and shooting star presses take up lots of energy. Your superstar only has so much energy to go around. So all of a sudden, smaller moves and rest holds have their place again, and damage is a lot deadlier.
As for No Mercy, well, the jury's still out as to if it'll ever be topped.

I remember the old days on the N64 games, when Smackdown! 1 hit the PS1.
Where D! and I would have matches that lasted 15-20 minutes on No Mercy, it would be over in under five minutes on SD!
Also, all you could build character-wise was a freakin' robot or a generic guy? WTF?

so, the question is...
SD vs. Raw 2006 or No Mercy?

I'll probably get it, I wish they went back to the button mashing (WWF Wrestlemania 2000) for escaping the cage. The slow-mo thing (I find) is awfull.

The button-mashing is about the only thing that was weird about cage matches. Not bad, just weird...
The Ladder matches in No Mercy didn't make sense. If you started mashing a second too soon, you'd do a move off the ladder instead.
If Day of Reckoning 2 didn't have such ATROCIOUS load times...good LORD. It would be almost as good. But poor character selection, brutal load times, and only one costume per person hurts it.
Great create-a-wrestle, mind. Just...load times.

I haven't played the new RAW vs. SMACKDOWN yet, but I've heard good things about it. The only thing I wish the Playstation games had was the create an entrance format that was on the Xbox RAW game (the only good thing about that game)

Your wish is granted, Ravager, because minus the X-Box's ability to rip music, Create-an-Entrance debuts in the Smackdown! series this year.
You had the ability to wish anything in existence, and you chose this. Nice work.

Day of Reckoning 2 had create-an-entrance... STUPID LOAD TIMES. Ok, I gotta play stupid sd vs raw now. I hope my roommate finally gets his PS2 from his brother.

I hope when video games become more advanced the WWE could add something I like to call "Create-a-Finisher" now that would be sweat!

The only thing I wish the Playstation games had was the create an entrance format that was on the Xbox RAW game (the only good thing about that game) I think the thing that should be brought over is my awesome "suplex on top of a pin" maneuver. THAT was the awesome thing about RAW for XBox. That will truly go down as one of the most awesome things I've ever seen in a wrestling game. Just a bit higher than Giant Stephanie slapping D! brother out of existence.
