Indie wrestling reporter, Sommer Williams, catches up with "The Show" Chad Kurtis as he arrives in North Carolina to take in Rebel Pro's "Ladder to Success".
Sommer: Chad, I know you are in a hurry to meet up with the rest of The Bluegrass Mafia, but can I get a quick interview?
Show: We are going to have to make this one real quick. I am just getting here and need to get my workout in, before meeting up with Matt and Lynds.
Sommer: First of all you're being here must mean that your little brother, Jonathon is doing a lot better, so what's yourr take on Donovan Astros' comments about your no-show?
Show: Yes, Jonathon is doing a lot better. The doctors say he should make a full recovery in 3-6 weeks. I just wanted to take this time to think all the fans and fellow wrestlers who kept my family in their thoughts and prayers during this time. Now as an afterthought let's talk about the so-called savior of NAPW, Donovan Astros. As Astros pointed out this ain't the big time and we still have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Interesting point, but as everyone know we have both been to the big time, and apparently Astros blew all his money, while I invested mine. I don't wrestle for the money, I wrestle for the love of the sport! I make most of my money doing photo shoots, the $3000 or so a month I make wrestling wouldn't cover the lifestyle I enjoy, so let's get one thing straight Astros the reason I wrestle is because I have lightning in my chest and thunder in my veins! In another words, I live to wrestle!
Sommer: If you live to wrestle, how do you explain your no-show last week? I mean you were supposed to be in what many people consider the best match on the card?
Show: You know, Sommer, it was a difficult decision to miss my chance to teach Donovan Astros a lesson that he wouldn't forget, but as I guess few people know I graduated Duke with a degree in Sports Medicine, and my family asked me to help over see Jonathon's therapy, and sorry to disappoint Astros, but family comes first! I would like to take this opportunity to apologize once again to "the Bluegrass Nation" in Canada as well as Rex Caliber and the rest of NAPW for no-showing.
Sommer: Rumor has it that you and the rest of The Bluegrass Mafia received fines from NAPW for no-showing. Do you think this is fair regarding the situation?
Show: This is where I must agree with NAPW and even Donavon Astros and say yes I agree with the fines,no matter what happened we missed a scheduled event that could have wrecked the event. Wow, I can't believe I said I agree with Astros. Now, I think that just made me throw up a little in my mouth.
Sommer: Moving on from that lovely picture. How long do you think the fans will have to wait before seeing "The Show" vs. "The Savior"?
Show: It shouldn't be long. I mean with Astros it's getting to the point that the hype is going to be far greater then the match itself. I mean like I said before he knows I am a better wrester then him, he knows he his heart of hearts he can't beat me! I just hope this realization ain't keeping him up at night! I mean I don't want him to be scared, because I don't want to have to chase him!
Sommer: One final question, and this one ain't about Astros or NAPW. Your brother is in a match tonight that if he wins it means Matthew Kurtis vs. Chad Kurtis for the Rebel Pro's Carolinas Champion. Are you prepared for this possibility and can the Bluegrass Mafia handle you two facing-off?
Show: Well, Sommer, this ain't our first rodeo. I mean me and Matthew have faced each other twice before in FCW. The first time when I was I rookie and he beat me, and the second time when I was FCW champion, and I got the win. So, if he wins, he wins. Truth being it don't matter who wins, because when they face "The Show" they are going down! And to answer your question about could the Bluegrass Mafia handle it, c'mon nothing is going to come between us! BGM 4-Life!
