[ Fade in.]
[ Our scene begins in the lobby of a hotel. A ton of people are wheeling luggage through the halls attempting to get to their assigned rooms. Panning around the camera notices Dez Carter. He is seated off in the corner at an internet kiosk. His laptop is plugged in and he seems to be viewing a video. The lobby is fairly quiet although crowded. All this changes however when...]
Voice: DEZ!!!
[ Startled, Dez nearly drops his laptop. He quickly recovers and spins around...]
Dez: Yes Asuka?
[ He answers in a bored manner and this does not go unnoticed but our favorite redhead.]
Asuka: What's that? You don't seem happy to see me! Why not!
Dez: Asuka I just saw you half an hour ago when you went to play the slots... Oh god no.
[ Dez flinches.]
Dez: You didn't... You didn't run out of money did you?
Asuka: Well ya see... The damn machine is rigged! I couldn't win a thing!
Dez: You lost $100 in half an hour?
[ Asuka's face flushes.]
Asuka: I played the dollar machines.
[ Dez's head falls to the table with an audible think.]
Asuka: Dez are you alright? Dez?
Dez: I can't believe you lost all that money so fast.
[ He recovers and reaches into his pocket. Grabbing a bill, he tosses it to Asuka. She catches it and smiles throwing her arms around Dez.]
Asuka: Wow thanks!
Dez: If I see you back here again that quickly... I swear we will never gamble again!
Asuka: Ok I promise!
[ She runs off. Dez glances down at the laptop screen before shutting the computer off. He gets up from the chair, taking the computer, and heads into the small diner of the hotel. Sitting at a table, Dez places the laptop down and turns to the camera.]
Dez: So I finally make my return to singles action. Don't get me wrong I loved working with North. He's a bit crazy but one hell of a competitor. Good luck in the future buddy.
Now onto Newfy Jack. So you're a tough guy eh Jack? A real big brawler. That's fine with me. What isn't fine is your lack of knowledge. It is clear by your comments that you don't see me as much of a challenge. I should be preparing for a fight? I'm the one going to be steam rolled over on root to your first win? Those are famous words Jack. Famous because they usually lead to that person being beaten down. Lack of information about your opponent is the worst disadvantage in a fight. If you don't know what he will bring, your foe will surely dominate.
[ Dez flags over a waitress and points to an item on the menu.]
Dez: You seem to think your brawling ability is all you need. True you may get a lucky punch or your finisher ending the match. However I don't plan on that being how things end up. I'm not going to brag Jack. If your too stupid to not study tape, I won't talk about my training or abilities. We'll just let you find out what I am capable of come bell time. I will tell you a little secret though. You may be able to throw a punch but can you counter a punch? How about weaken your opponent with kicks? Jack do you know how to break bones? How one little twist could be the difference between a broken foot or never being able to use that foot again? If you answer yes... I look forward to our war. If you answer no?
[ Dez smirks.]
Dez: All that boasting won't mean a damn thing because I'll be handing you the first L in your NAPW career. Don't fret Jack all is not lost. I lost quite a few times before getting my first win. I'm sure after I stiff the hell out of you and pin you with The Overdrive or make you tap that you'll pick yourself up. You'll get right back into the hunt and some day you'll get that win. Jack that win isn't coming on my watch. It's a new year and a new start. The slate is wiped clean and you better believe I want to start out on a high note. As far as I'm concerned Jack... My reestablishment in the singles ranks begins on TNF.
Bring your A game Newfy Jack. Bring all the power and ability you have. Because on TNF... We're going to have a war. A war I plan on winning. Jack... I'll see you in the ring.
