The scene opens up with former TV Champion Jeff James standing in front of a white wall. An NAPW banner hangs behind him and he has a look of disgust in his eyes. His cheerful attitude no longer there
Jeff James: So I check the card after Cold Snap...Turns out I'm in a triple threat match against the new blood. They had a hell of a match if you think about it. Both of them came in undefeated...The fans just NEEDED to see that one...Rotten comes out the loser. DEVASTATING loss. O'Brien with the cheap win...meh. Now obviously someone knows nothing of competition. PURE Competition.
He closes his eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath
Jeff James: As O'Brien said, I'm the square peg in the round hole when it comes to this. These two should be fighting in a singles match. They should be competing against each other without me as the third wheel. Yet NAPW management believed that I would be a good addition...I mean look at my past...I'm a record breaking man, longest reigning TV Champion in NAPW history and I've had the most title defenses. Thats hard to do baby, day in and day out I defended that TV Title. (he smiles) Then...I did something noone expected. I brang out the competitor in Prince Darko. He pulled off something noone thought was possible...He pinned me. One. Two. Three. In the middle of the ring, WITHOUT CHEATING! Thats not something you'd expect from Prince Darko. But I turned him into a champion. My loss was his gain. We then went into Cold Snap believing we were at the top of our game. But we slacked once again. All of us this time. I put aside my beliefs and I became cocky. (disgusted look) Then I lost my match at Cold Snap...The Foundation lost at Cold Snap...But maybe thats what we all needed. That loss, to set us straight. O'Brien believes he's the greatest in the game at the moment. He's going into this one cocky.
He chuckles
Jeff James: O'Brien if you want to come into the match like that. Then you better learn to accept defeat. Yes you may of beaten Johnny Rotten at Cold Snap. Yes you may of ended his undefeated streak...But look man. (smirks) I've ended undefeated streaks...Yellow Chicken, longest streak in NAPW. Can you do that O'Brien? Your an excellent talent but CAN you back up your words?
Your win at Cold Snap means nothing to me. Your previous wins mean nothing to me. Your past means nothing to me. All that matters is what you bring to OUR match. You look at me as if I'm the third wheel? I'm the main part of this match O'Brien. Settle your differences with Rotten later. I'm what you should be setting your eyes on. C'mon, a win over the greatest TV Champ of all time? Can you imagine how good that would look? Or does my reign mean nothing to you? I know what its like to be in your mindset O'Brien.
But you have to come to terms with the fact that you aren't the greatest wrestler in the world. That no matter what, there will ALWAYS be someone better than you. It might be hard to accept it...But thats the only way you'll improve.
Prince Darko, Yellow Chicken, Billy Kryenik, Kenny Krenshov and DX. Thats my list. Those are the people who have aided me to become the wrestler I am today. Those select few are the people responsible for my title reign. Those people are responsible for the legacy I'm going to leave behind. If it wasn't for them, I'd be another waste of talent. I'd be the curtain jerker. I'd be the stepping stone...Which is what I believe you take me as. You see me as a washed up champ don't you?
He cracks his neck and looks angrily at the camera and smiles
Jeff James: O'Brien, listen to me when I tell you this. Come our match, I will do what noone in NAPW has been able to do. I will beat you to a pulp. I will hit you with everything I have and then some. I find something quite awkward about you though. You tell Rotten that he only "hopes" to defeat you. You act as if Rotten fears you. You act as if NAPW even gives a damn that your in the company. The truth is, noone cares about your undefeated streak, noone cares if you claim to be unbeatable, and noone will care Jay.
But let me get something straight. I'm not overlooking you in any way. So don't even let those thoughts cross your mind. I know how talented you are. I watched your match at Cold Snap. I watched it very closely. For you see, I have a thing for the new blood...I like to watch you all develop. I've also come to a pretty precise conclusion. Your all cocky, every single last one of you. You all think your the next big thing. You all believe that your going to rise to the top and do what noone has been able to do...I've realized that these are all empty promises...For not many have been able to make it to the top. I'm not even at the top...I'm not even close. I redefined Action, broke records and have an upset victory over the greatest tag team in the world...and STILL I'm not at the top. O'Brien do you believe that a little undefeated streak is what it takes to make it in this business? You need experience, you need to taste defeat...and when you taste it...You have to ENJOY it. For defeat is the only way you can become better. You need to learn from your mistakes and you need to be beaten and beaten and beaten. How much longer do you expect this streak to last O'Brien?
I'm trying to warn you here! If you keep going like this your going to make a big mistake, your going to make MY mistake. Every night I go to sleep in pain. All because of one (BLEEP)ing mistake! I underestimated Krenshov and Yellow Chicken. Krenshov threw me around like a ragdoll my body has yet to recover completely. Then Yellow Chicken twisted my body into ways I didn't even think existed. I have to feel that pain each and every night...But the pain to me...its a lesson...That there are people better than me out there...And that I AM capable of becoming better than them, but I have to work at it. While natural talent does exsist...It only brings you so far.
Now, I'm not forcing you to listen to my advice. But I plan on helping you whether you like it or not. You'll thank me later O'Brien.
As for you Johnny Rotten.
Jeff clears his throat
Jeff James: I could go on and on about you aswell, but I'll try to cut this short. You my friend, are an amazing talent. One that I hope to be able to work with after our match together. Whether its tag teaming or going against each other. Although you got screwed out of your undefeated streak by O'Brien. I'm pretty sure you have learned what I was previously talking about...You've learned to taste defeat. Hopefully you know to take that positively instead of negatively. I don't want to see your talent get wasted.
But I have to ask you this Rotten, when we go into that ring together. Put your differences with O'Brien aside. Forget that he screwed you out of your streak. Forget angry you are with him and FOCUS on wrestling. Focus on hitting both of us with everything you have. I don't want to see you slack ONCE! I want you to bring your A Game. If O'Brien or I take you to the mat, I want you up in less then 2 seconds. I don't want to see any near falls. I don't want to see your struggling. Conserve your energy wisely and think before you act. You need to be quick on your feet if you want to come out this match the winner. I don't know about O'Brien, but I can assure you that I will be at 150% when it comes to our match. I want you two to learn from me...As I have learned from my previous competition. You two have potential...See, I once spoke to Nightmare about his potential...Now I don't know if I aided him at all, but look at him now! He's a monster! People have to think twice when they get near him...He may of beat me down with a chair, but he has my respect.
Now you two, take my words...Let them sink in...I'll be back.
