The scene opens Dio Muerte bat in hand taking a seat in that small pink house with a Greek flag waving on the side.
Dio Muerte Dad, I'm home.
A tall transparent figure enters the room.
Dad Hi son. How's life?
Dio Muerte It's good.
Dad Making music?
Dio Muerte I'm wrestling now. In Canada.
Dad Wow, it's cold up there, isn't it?
Dio Muerte Yeah, but you deal. So how is he?
Dad In college right now. He's studying law.
A short transparent figure enters the room
Dio Muerte Glad to see you join us mother.
Mom I can't believe you. You go from a pipe dream to a barbaric profession. You walked out of my life ten years ago to go fetch a dream and you return like this. A bruised up, masked worthless excuse for a human being. Why would you do such a thing to yourself.
Dio Muerte Mom, I walked out on you, I needed to think, I needed space to breath. I began to learn on my own. I educated myself. I fed myself wisdom. I learned and understood things I wish I never did.
You know what that was?
You never gave a damn about me. It was all about you. You wanted me to become that doctor, that lawyer. So you could brag to others. So you could feel better about yourself.
Knowing you were unable to go to college, knowing you would never reach the American Dream. You had friends that did. You felt like trash knowing you grow up with these people but you couldn't succeed the wealth they way they did. You knew that only way you could receive these material dreams was through me. All through me.
But, something went wrong in your plans. When I turned five you knew something went wrong. You knew what was going to happen. I was still much too young to notice.
So you and dad had him. You knew he would get you that car with the fancy bow. That house with all the rooms you won't use. You knew I would be thinker, I would rebel against what I believed was wrong. And him, he would do what he was told to.
YOU KNEW I WOULDN'T BE YOUR DRONE!
You couldn't accept it. You need a plan b. You and dad had him.
And poor dad, you used him. He thought it was love. He wanted to start a family. He never knew what you really wanted. He was never aware of your hidden agenda.
Points his bat to a picture of him
He became the favorite. You had to nurse him, baby him. So he would remember you were kind to him. So when he did go to college and received that American Dream. You could put him on a guilt trip and he would surrender his wallet to you.
And poor dad, you used him. He thought it was love. He just wanted two boys. He wanted a boy to have a big brother. He wanted a boy to have a little brother. He wanted a cohesive unit. So if anything happened to you and him. Big brother and little brother you have a support unit.
He didn't care what we became, as long as we had love for one another.
The worst part is, your scheme was so bullet proof, it was so intricate it had no option but to work.
But..
Mom Yes exactly, it was suppose to work, but your dad and I passed on.
We failed, all because of your stubbornness. You wanted to live your dreams and be the next big philosopher. You went and messed it all up for me.
But it's not all a waste. We finally have a success in the family. He's the first in the family to go to college. If it wasn't for me making him the favorite. If it wasn't for me kicking you out of the house. He would had never be where he is.
If you still lived in this house, you would had contaminated him with your ways.
Dio Muerte How sweet would it be. I would had fully demolished your plan. I would left you without a hope. You would had died an old bitter lady, but, I left you the joy of hope. This was my one and only gift I've ever given to you.
Mom Such a worthless gift. You can't use hope. You can't drive hope. You can't live in hope.
Dio Muerte You're dead and all you seem to care about is materialistic needs.
And poor dad. He thought it was love. He just wanted a wife to love forever and ever. He never knew how twister you were. He didn't fell in love with a character.
You were the evil in my life. The day when i walked out of your life was the day things were bright. When things were clear. You were darkness in my life. I'm happy knowing you're gone. I wash my hands of you.
Mom You can't do this to me. You can't just rid of me like this. Do you not know who I am? I am your mother. You can never get rid of me. I'll always be there.
Dio Muerte raises out of his seat. Makes his way towards the door.
Mom I'll always be there!
Dio Muerte exits the house.
